Rare Games’ Resurrection to Relevance

Stephanie Burdo from The Koalition writes:

"Recently teasing followers on Twitter, Rare Games head of music, Robin Beanland caused a stir with his post that read: “This is a HUGE year for Rare…and these notes :-).” Along with this mysterious tweet, Beanland attached a photo of a small piece of handwritten sheet music. What could this mean? Is it possible that Rare Games, the developer we all know and love, could be making its way back into relevance?"

For them to make a comeback, they need to be given work on titles that people have been wanting for a while, and at the same time make them more elaborate than the mediocre titles they have done lately.

Give us a new Conker game thats in line with its original raunchiness and humor, a REAL NEW BANJO KAZOOIE GAME for once, and finally a new Jet Force Gemini game.

That and even a blatant port of blast corps and id be all over an xbox one chuck in sunset overdrive and halo collection... Schweet until then, no ta.

I don't understand what peoples problems were with Nuts and Bolts. I thought it was a fantastic game with a nice mixture of 3d platforming and creative vehicle building. Not to mention the graphics were fantastic at the time.

It is an excellent game (I completed all tt-challenges except that stupid on-rails shooting one) but I agree with people that say it should have been a spinoff not a part of the main series, I would love a sequel to N&B's but would much prefer a true B&K game.

It certainly wasn't a terrible game but I just felt the orginal reveal trailer of the Rare logo and banjo Kazooie were clearly setting us up for number 3 and then yet that came along (N&B) there was not the single hint from that original teaser trailer that the series had gone on a whole different theme, so it was a little misleading and massively disappointing when I realised number 3 wasn't happening a new Banjo platform would be amazing, sure mario is enough for most and certainly but the orginal banjo was brill ain't never really got through the second so I'll just fish that out if we're made to wait much longer, Jet force Gemini defo deserves a second blast tho and blast corps was amazing.
I'd love a proper HD remaster of orginal conker as well never got round to it or the xbox re-release, not likely to happen tho, maybe a sequel tho.

Conker and Perfect Dark are my two most wanted titles.

Stop making games for Kinect and yea Rare could be relevant again.

i agreed with most of what the author said but this

"and the underwhelming Killer Instinct for the Xbox One"??

where did he get that from?the game is popular with xbox plays great...MS/rare/iron galaxy&double helix did a great job.the game is great fun.

anyway i would love a new kameo and bk though and maybe another go at perfect dark.

gangsta_red1332d ago

Yea, that statement is very puzzling...

It's perhaps one of the most popular titles on Xbox One and it has gotten a lot of praise from the fighting community.

NeoGamer2321332d ago

Yep, the article lost all credibility in that statement.

Killer Instinct is the only Tully next gen fighting game to date, and it is one of the most well-balanced fighting games ere made.

Everything else in the article is common knowledge.
