Zombies or just status ids for NPCs?
oh for the love of god... can we go 1 month without zombies? im so tired of them...
This game has too many ridiculous stuffs. Same can be said for Zombies. Imagine Fulton-ing them. I prefer Zombies to be added.
This game better have less ridiculous stuff.. those MGS style jokes can stay for sure.. but more realistic boss fights would be wellcome! aslo Beeeewbbs can stay! and here comes the mighty white knight on a horse!.... :D EDIT: zombies would be better then a flying fat bee man, thats for sure!
Bring in the ZAMBIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gettooo dee chappa
Yes. Zombies are getting old...
Zombies should just stay with the survival horror genre, which actually already ended over a decade ago. Most other that come after aren't zombies, just some fake ones. Fast zombies...infected etc. The real ones are the slow ones from RE1-CV.
OMG plz noooo!!!
Those better just be enemies under Psycho Mantis'control.
No, please no. Zombies are boring and done to death. Please don't be that lazy Kojima.
Yeah, Zombies are boring. That's why one of the top rated shows on TV is about zombies.
Talent shows also get really high ratings on TV, doesn't mean they aren't boring or done to death. Also doesn't mean that there aren't about 50 more zombie games than there are zombie movies or TV shows.
Lazy is absolutely not the correct word.
While i agree that zombies are getting old, anyone that has played the Metal Gear games knows they wouldn't exactly be out of place. I mean, we've seen creepy vampire guy, creepy half spider guy, creepy psychic powers guy, all kinds of half robot, full robot enemies, a sniper well over 100 years old, clones... Lets face it, weird and supernatural style enemies shouldn't surprise anyone at this point in Metal Gear.
Well we have half naked women on cardboard boxes. So I say why the fuck not?
I bet I know exactly what these "zombies" would be. The E3 2013 trailer had some enemies in it that looked like soldiers that have had cybernetic augmentations and could be artificially brought back to life and turned into bio organic enemies. http://gematsu.com/gallery/... heres a screenshot.
Yeah just some sort of meat-suits to the controlled like puppets. Seems feasible. And no I am not being sarcastic. Lol
I think that it is more likely that they are somehow connected to either the 'Les Enfants Terribles' or another similar cloning project. What I am implying here is that these are the ones who died, to make Solid Snake and Liquid Snake (taken from the MGS wiki: "six were intentionally aborted, to promote stronger growth in the remaining two"). You can of cause say that there's a hole in my theory, because only four soldiers are shown on the screen, but I strongly believe that I've at least got half of the truth. Also note their names "Those who don't exist" and that they have number printed on their heads (the guy who runs at the camera is numbered "02"). It also makes sense in terms of the lyrics that are sung while they are on screen ("The Sins never die. Can't wash this blood off our hands.") and also the song name "Sins of the Father" is very fitting. It would make most sense if they are implemented in the game as a boss fight. I find it more likely that it is a state for NPC's under influence of young Psycho Mantis and that they will somehow be included in a boss fight (Think MGS4, where the Heaven Troops / FROGS are revived to fight you). Lastly, I don't think that it would make sense to have an "isZombie" tag for NPC's, if they are obviously meant to only be in their zombie state. What I mean by this is that unlike the seemingly mind-controlled DD soldiers I talked about in my other comment, these guys are obviously modified "permanently" to fight and not under some kind of special condition. Please, if you think I've got something wrong, a reply would be appreciated. Thanks for taking you time reading this, I hope it was interesting.
Another explanation for the "isZombie" tag that I haven't seen discussed before can be found here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/... (For the next section: Parented objects have "children" objects that follow them. An example of this is Snake's machine gun which is attached to his hip. In this instance Snake would be the parent and the gun would be the child) It basically means (as far as I understood) that whenever an object which has been "parented" is removed from the scene in one or the other way, the "children's" will get the "isZombie" tag and possibly be removed or put on idle in some kind of way. Also, in my prior comment I was of cause talking about soldiers or other kinds of generic NPC's being under young Psycho Mantis' influence, not "Those who don't exist".
You just blew my mind. I hope youre right, that would make for some amazing bossfights. However, if "Those who dont exist" are the aborted clones, how would they be so old? Given that Eli and David are only about 12 at this time
I don't think there will be and I hope no zombies. It's getting old and only worked well in some of the first horror games, but after that been used too much. Maybe it just means the soldiers or characters under Mantis' mind-control. Remember the Nuclear trailer ending part, those soldiers acted like "zombies". Anyway, that being said who knows what the brilliant Kojima will show us. I would not be surprised if for some reason we see actual zombies. Also no idea what that image actually means, but I suggest PC folks stop digging up the files to stop confusing yourselves more. Maybe wait for TPP to see the stuff, although the waiting is damn painful.
its from one of the trailers
Yea I've watched the trailers like 10 million times. But who knows what that image means, maybe it is referring to E3 2013/2014 trailer stuff or maybe not.
Would you go so far as to say the wait is...phantom painful?
Everyone complaining go read theonewhoistornapart's comment and stop it.
I think that it is most likely that the "isZombie" status is either something that is applied to NPC's under control of young Psycho Mantis (as seen in the early 'Moby Dick' version of the "Phantom Pain" teaser and later in another trailer in an area that looks like the Mother Base, where a couple of oddly zombie-like DD soldiers are killed in cold blood by Big Boss) or that it is some kind of generic state that NPC's are sent into when they don't have any tasks or Big Boss has somehow carried them outside of their patrol area. Of those two possibilities I find the former most likely. I really doubt that zombies, like we know them from other games like Dying Light, will make it into TPP. Those kinds of zombies only belong in spin off Metal Gear games, like for example Metal Gear Rising (I am of cause referring to the talk about Hideo wanting to create another MGR game, possibly starring Gray Fox as the main character, with zombies).
Haha, imagine if the other MGS games came out now and someone found a "isGhost", "isPsychic", "isCyborg","isB eeKeeper", "isVampireNanoMachineSupe rSoldierDancingGuyKnifeThrower& quot;, everyone would have reacted the same. People are definitely getting too worked up. It could even be, like someone said, a Zombie Side Ops Mission. Peace Walker had several missions where you took pictures of ghosts and The End calls you over the codec where you could get the Moss camo.
War.... Has changed
Would not mind a Zombie Side Op, if it was just optional fun!
I don't think it's zombies or it's maybe a nightmare?
As a cheat code or as an extra non-canon mission like Jamais Vu or Deja Vu in Ground Zeroes? Sure. As a part of the actual game? No.
what next Exo ?
Didn't we see zombie-like enemies used in MGS4? Remember the soldiers who were suddenly cut off from the SOP system (basically a system that turns all the pain/emotion reception off), turning them into shambling, brain-dead killers? I don't know about you, but it certainly felt like I was defending an APC from a horde of the undead in MGS4. Also, like others have pointed out, Metal Gear isn't unfamiliar with spooky. We've seen the series dabble with vampires, ghosts, human spiders, and the list goes on. This is hardly crossing the proverbial line.
I hope so.
if this true, then it mean it was another kojima's hillarious trolls in the game
Must have zombies or the kids won't buy it.
