Hitman 6 What You Should Know about Its Development

Hitman 6 was announced back in January 2014 by development team IO Interactive. At the time, they announced that Hitman 6 (although not a confirmed official name for the game) was going to take strong guidance from fan favorite games like Hitman Blood Money and Hitman Contracts. While fans were more than excited from the confirmed direction they were taking with the announced new Hitman 6 title they were slowly let down by the fact that the company confirmed that it would be a long while until they actually got to see any aspect of the game.

The story is too old to be commented.

I think there will be more information about the game once the movie drops really. I think they will play the game trailer prior to the movie as that would be a really good idea when you think about it. Its just the thought tho. I am just glad they are doing a more contracts/ blood money direction with the game.

I can't wait for this game. I absolutely love the series, and will definitely buy the new one day one

Has it actually been confirmed that the next Hitman will be tied in with the movie? Because that would not be a good thing.

I hope IO is building this game in a vacuum... no tie-ins... it almost deserves a "reboot". Borrowing from Blood Money is good, but Contracts? Meh, Contracts was more in line with Absolution IMO.

Blood Money and Hitman 2 are the games to pull inspiration from. But it should end there. Don't just release a polished Blood Money with some new levels and another story-line about how 47 is being hunted, break the mold.

Take advantage of the new hardware and make this a truly open world Hitman game. Absolution has me a bit concerned, but ultimately I still have faith in IO to make Hitman what it should be.

Reboots can go deteriorate in a Very Very dark Hole,

Ok, not sure I follow the disagrees, but, I suppose I shouldn't be terribly surprised given that it's and I expressed a logical opinion.

As for @Halo2ODST2 - yes, reboots can go bad, but, in this case I think it would make sense. Perhaps not from the story's standpoint, we can keep it where it is. But from the gameplay/mechanics/technology aspects I think Hitman is in need of more than just a fresh coat of paint. Absolution is proof of this.

Look at Tomb Raider, Star Fox, Mortal Kombat, Prince of Persia, etc...

Again, maybe not a pure 'reboot' - but, it needs an overhaul to stay competitive.

I just hope it is more like Blood Money and Contracts rather than Absolution!

Imagine a Co-Op Hitman game like Blood Money (Like optional non story related Co-Op) it would be fascinating!

I agree with you to an extent. I feel that would be awesome but they need to do it under the Kane and lynch lic and keep hitman itself true to it's roots. K&L had massive potential to be more than it was. I actually enjoyed both but saw plenty of opportunity to push it further.

If you take what Absolution did, story mode and online mode combined, and couple that with the fact that the companies behind the game have acknowledged that the series needs to go back to it's roots, it's really looking good. I really feel like this game is going to be special. I'm looking forward to this game just as much as Metal Gear Solid 5, Final Fantasy 15 and Bloodborne.
