GearNuke: "Planetside 2 looks rather amazing on the PlayStation 4."
i was playing last night the game does look really nice but i also noticed that it doesnt have all the nice visual effects that the PC version has....Bummer but either way pretty good looking
Been playing it on PC for years it's a good game on the PC
Great on PS4 so far too! This is such a win for Planetside!
I don't think a lot of the particle physics would every be there.
Thats the 1st thing I notice! Damn Liars! I knew the end product wasn't going to measure up! and not being cross-play compatible with the Pc game is a grave mistake. War Thunder for Ps4 is doing fine with the cross-play with Pc gamers.
It looks good. Prior to clicking this I was almost certain this was a piece from Abriel.
The streams last night it looked really good. The shooting looked tight as well but the games didn't have enough players in them. It was a ghost "planet". ;)
glad you ps4 guys will finally get to enjoy it, it can get pretty crazy on hossin, especially when the fights get big, its loads of fun and craziness @sense i doubt its going to be anywhere near close to 2000+, it'll probably be less who knows.
How many players can play on ps4 compared to pc?
Pretty damn close to what I've experienced on the PC. But the games not going to win any awards for its visuals. Sheer scope is what PS is all about.
Which is why I found SOE sending small number of invites so ironic. I looked into the source of the article on NeoGAF and they said something that made me think about how SOE plans to roll this game out to the masses if they don't even want to include many people for TESTING: "Was very few people on the server, most action I saw was about a 5v5 skirmish." I dont know about anyone here, but that's pretty lame for a game as large as Planetside, esp considering the scale I was used to on the PC version. And if the amount of time and silence they made for the U.I tweaks is any indication, launch day may be a mess. I just hope the same hardware specs will allow a quicker optimization fix then on PC.
I wasn't surprised at the low player count on the first day, though like you said below I've been looking forward to this since before it was ever confirmed for PS4, watching YouTube and Twitch and generally learning about the game. I figure it's better for them to slowly ramp up than to slam the servers and risk the inevitable backlash that would happen if they crashed from the stress.
I should of signed up long ago, but my computer was down, I bet there's a bunch of former Planetside PC players getting their double dip, and I gotta wait now.
From what I've read the codes are going out randomly. People who signed up months ago don't have codes and people who signed up recently do. Watching some of the streams last night there are definitely PC players double dipping.
I signed up early and still didnt get an invite. Sux for how much effort I spent being as informed as possible for this games beta, and promoting it to friends.
The way they are handling this beta is awful
How so? It just started. If you mean the number of codes sent out so far I have to disagree. It's better for them to slowly let people in than to flood the servers and risk the inevitable backlash that would happen if they went down from overloading. I want a code really bad, but I understand the caution.
The scope of this game is very impressive so PS4 owners should be in for a treat on that front. As for the line "Planetside 2 looks rather amazing on the PlayStation 4." well..based on the provided screenshots I would say its a nice looking shooter and a bit pedestrian compared to other shooters out.
I've been waiting months just to see how you PS4 guys react to PS2; I want to see that same glee appear in your threads the way it did with us PC people during the PC beta. I guarantee that you have NEVER played a shooter like this before. Not even MAG comes close to the experience that you are about to have. Have fun guys and girls. I'm glad you get to experience Planetside 2.
I got a beta invite. I'm downloading right now
