What Team Ico was doing was special in 2007 – it isn't anymore. Everything their design philosophy offered is now embodied by indie games.
Yeah. I'd say we do need it.
No kidding. I'm still looking forward to it, whatever it turns out to be.
Of course we need it! Let's see the reactions when the game will finally be announced in 2015!
its ridiculous because i bought a ps3 in 2009 especially for the last guardian, thinking it would be out soon... roll on 2015 and we now have a ps4 on the market and still no last guardian. i dont even think about last guardian anymore, its irrelevant now
Irrelevant is a bit harsh... It's just out of sight, out of mind. It's frustrating though seeing the constant announcements of remasters when there are games like this doing god knows what that everyone would like to get their hands on.
Im buying a PS4 for this game. I want it so badly!!
stfu, we need it badly. it's gonna be a first-class masterpiece
I want The Last Guardian
i need it
Speak for yourself.
Same thing I was going to say lol!!!
Shitty article. No Team ICO cannot be replaced by indies. They make their thing and ICO makes their thing don't get confused that its all the same!!!
I am a gamer that loves all consoles own them all and love the games. If you look at my comment history it will show a supposed loyalty to xbox, but its not true. I think Xbox is unfairly ridiculed and not appreciated by the masses while Sony seems to do no wrong and continues to sell insane amounts of systems.....with all that being said ICO was one of the best games i ever played and shadow of colossus was just as amazing. When Sony showed The Last Guardian i immediately bought a PS3 because i knew that EVERY PS3 game could suck forever, but as long as i got to play this masterpiece it would be worth the 600 price of admission...thankfully MGS4 made up somewhat for the loss, but I NEED LAST GUARDIAN. I need it so bad that id pay 99.99 retail for it...hell ill pay 199.99. Thats how good the experience i had with ICO and Shadow was worth to me
Wall of text bro... Wall of text but bubble up anyway...
I'm starting to wonder why I hate this site. Now I know why. Bastards made an article of a topic I made about their site trying to clear their names or something stating that I was misinforming gamers. Even if I did, I think they went overboard.
We don't need hockey because we have football, soccer and basketball. Hockey is just basketball and soccer and the 'ice mechanic' is just too cumbersome for people to deal with (you can't even use football cleats on it). Anyone who likes hockey needs to get with the program because there are already other sports out there.
That's not at all what the article is talking about, whatsoever. Hockey, Football, Basketball are all entirely different sports. If we consider a sport to be a genre, then The Last Guardian falls into only ONE of those sports. What the article is describing is that alot of companies are now "playing the same sport" as TLG. So TLG, aside from budget, is not going to be bringing much to the table that Indies haven't already been doing and/or currently doing. To be honest, I think the article is right. I don't see an indie doing something like UC4 or Tomb Raider or 1886 or Quantum Break...anytime soon. But a smaller title, story focused with simple platforming and such? That's basically right in the wheelhouse of Indies. And Indies have been churning out alot of that kind of stuff.
So, the title that says, "We Don't Need The Last Guardian" and the description of the article that says, "Everything their design philosophy offered is now embodied by indie games" isn't what the article is about? My mistake.
@DoublePlus What are you talking about? You said, "We don't need hockey because we have football, soccer and basketball." That's NOT what the article is saying. The article is saying that what Team Ico was doing back in 2007 was unique for AAA... ....and that it isn't unique anymore, simply because Indies have approached design similar to where they were. They even stated in the article that Team Ico was ahead of it's time for AAA. OK, let me ask you a question. Do you think only a Major AAA Studio can build The Last Guardian?
Because it's not the game we need right now, but the game we deserve.
Team ICO > Indies
Ico and shadow of the colossus is one of the best game ever!
"We"? Speak for yourself wanker!
Speak for yourself. I don't know who the "we" you're referring to is. Ico/SotC are some of the greatest masterpieces in video game history. I can wait.
Speak for urself I'd take the Last Guardian over all my PS4 games
Hahahaha, Who the f.... is we? I am already waiting an eternity for this game and I will continue to do so. No one can replace this game, not even god himself. Go away with your shitty Indies ... what is wrong with you, desperately waiting for attention or clicks? Nothing else to do ...?
I need The Last Guardian and Agent.
With a title like that you're just asking for hate... The click bate is real.
What we don't need are junk articles like this telling us what we need. Who the f are you to say what "we" need? Go find something to do that you are good at, journalism is not it.
Yeah what you need is clicks.
Rubbish article. Apparently people still care about vaporware.
Rubbish article from an even more RUBBISH site.
Are you kidding? Of course we need, Team ICO games are classics. The Last Guardian it's the most anticipated game, for me.
Of course we need it fuckface, many people bought PS3 just for games like The Last Guardian.
No no , WE dont need YOU!
Lol wut or who is the last Guardian? Imdbmybffjillroflcopter. The was an article recently about over exposure/early exposure of video games. This game was announced so long ago i just don't care anymore. If and when it comes out I'll be excited again and definitely purchase it but I'm totally sick of ten year dev cycles for games(when they've been announced so early). Ten years is barely an exaggeration this game better end world hunger or something.
Hey, Jeremy... Come here so I can kick you in the junk.
