Preview: The Order: 1886 | Stevivor

Stevivor - "I can pinpoint the exact moment my anticipation for The Order: 1886 went from “meh” to “damn it I need this game in my life right now.” It was the second I reached the end of the latest preview I’d had the privilege of playing. It was abrupt and unexpected and it made me audibly go “awwww.” I wanted more and I wanted it then and there. So, you know what I did? I played that same 30 minutes again. And again… and again. Now, against my previous judgement, The Order: 1886 has jumped to the top of my must-have list."

Am i the only one who thought this looked awesome the minute they released the teaser trailer?

Glad you changed your mind from 'meh' to you want this game. Ready at Dawn seriously look like they will be the next big thing to Sony in terms of exclusives and i am honestly stunned on how a PSP achieved graphics that are better than many AAA developers this day. Jason graves ost seems to be an epic fit to the game. I really hope them the best of luck.

When I played at E3 last year it was just really standard and actually pretty boring for a shooter, despite the cool setting. But seeing more of it and what RAD are going for I'm confident it's going to be a pretty great game.

No_Limit1276d ago

You just restore some confident for the game for me. Are you going to do a full review for the game?

No_Limit1276d ago (Edited 1276d ago )

Cool, definitely will look out for it as your scoring are fair and well written.

hulk_bash19871276d ago

Hell yes, I can't wait for February 20 to come. I have my Special Edition pre ordered and I'm ready to go.

DeltaPhoenix081276d ago

We will definitely be doing a full review sometime closer to the game's release :)

I bailed on this game a LONG time ago. I'm back in. As long as it's fun, I'm going to play it.

DeltaPhoenix081276d ago

Honestly, even the announcement trailer way back in 2013 didn't really make me keen. I think even though it's just a shooter it's hard to show off what they're attempting easily. I'm thinking the whole package will come together well and be lots of fun.

Dam I just watched the newest story trailer. Incredible...

The Game is gonna be great can't wait. Don't listen to reviews they'll knock it for no multiplayer and PS exclusive.

DarkOcelet1276d ago

Screw multiplayer, not every game needs MP. Dead Space and Mass Effect were fine without MP, now look at them now, if they have used those resources to make the SP better, they would have been amazing.

aPerson1276d ago

What a load of rubbish. Most PS4 exclusives have been critically acclaimed, so to say that any negative reviews are because it's a PS4 exclusive is ludicrous. Reviewers have every right to like or dislike it, as does everyone else. Opinions are a great thing!

OB1Biker1276d ago (Edited 1276d ago )

'Most PS4 exclusives have been critically acclaimed,' you kidding?
I don't like too much playing the 'victim' thing about exclusives but I honestly he's got a point.
Killzone SF bashed for single campaign but totally ignoring its a MP game. (Ginx)
Infamous SS ridiculously and unfairly comparing the open world to GTA (eurogamer)
'Broken games' bad reviews as opposed to MCC for example. Even discarting day 1 patch for LBP3 (IGN)

aPerson1276d ago (Edited 1276d ago )

^ Sorry, I meant "most PS exclusives are critically acclaimed."

When Uncharted 4 and Bloodborne hit, you can bet your left nut they will be critical darlings. The "bad reviews because it's a PS4 exclusive" excuse doesn't hold any water.

Disagrees, ahoy!

"To clarify, I still don’t think The Order is going to top any Game of the Year lists in 2015, but I do think that it’s going to be a solid and enjoyable title that will find a fan base. Aside from the setting, there isn’t an original bone in its body, but just because a game doesn’t innovate, doesn’t mean it can’t be a lot of fun."

First article I've read that had a realistic take. The rest have been either GOTY or disaster in the making.

Sounds like a mid 70s type meta.

DigitalRaptor1276d ago (Edited 1276d ago )

Good Lord, DougLord.

You clearly haven't even read most of the articles posted about The Order in the past 2 months, because until very recently you were saying that most of the previews were negative, when in fact they were mostly positive, and almost nobody mentioned GOTY in any of the articles, but rather that it had "solid gameplay mechanics" and that whilst they were apprehensive, they wanted to see more.

A bit different from your "analysis" of it being mostly QTE/cutscenes. Based on everything we know, you couldn't have been further from the truth.

So no... the rest of the previews were not either "GOTY or disaster in the making". I don't see how you can keep LYING like this, forming conclusions based on information that doesn't exist, and expect anyone but like-minded trolls to take you seriously.

"Sounds like a mid 70s type meta."

Based on? All those positive previews? The recent AMAZING footage from the trailer that basically disproves all your unfounded criticism of the past few months? Heavy Rain had all the "red flags" and "negatives" that you're accusing of this game, and see for yourself what Metascore that game achieved:

You couldn't spend your bubble on a more productive comment, could you?

Omran1276d ago (Edited 1276d ago )

he is a troll don't feed him, his blind fanboy comments still coming in every article that is related to PS

Ignore the haters

blakstarz1276d ago

I never been disappointed by a RAD game and I believe they will deliver on this game. The more gameplay I see, the more awesome it becomes.

ziggurcat1276d ago

the latest preview really flies in the face of all those people who cried about downgrades, and boring gameplay.
