Been enjoying the game its soo much fun (for glory) but lately the lag has prevented me from enjoying it as much as when it first launched. Every now and then the lag will creep up regardless of who it is we all suffer from it.

Had Nintendo included a ethernet port in the system they'd be a lot less lag and also matches take much longer to find an opponent ;)

I use the Wii LAN adapter that plugs into a USB port on the Wii U. That way I get a wired connection and don't have to deal with WiFi. I always prefer a direct port, but this USB adapter works very well too.

Something like this should work fine:

More people need to use wired connection like Nintendo recommends. I use a wired connection and can stream HD videos on my Wii U with no buffering but get in laggy matches all the time. It's annoying! Everyone needs to use wired connection !

The article is only really relevant if *every* owner of Smash Bros read and followed it... The lag is down the the games P2P networking, so the game is only as fast as the weakest link in the online match. My Wii U is hard wired, in the routers DMZ and on an 80Mb line - and I get lag out of the ass in Smash Bros sometimes. Sync several consoles at 60FPS, over P2P, in a game where you can't predict/extrapolate player movement to mask lag (which is what most games do) and you're going to run into issues like this.
