Gamers Universe: Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise Preview

Gamers Universe writes: "Back when the Xbox 360 was still an infant, somewhere amongst the slew of games based around guns, cars and girls (among other things aimed at red blooded males) was a game that involved creating a nice looking garden with the goal of attracting sweet little paper "animals" to live there. That game was Viva Piñata, and despite its cutesy façade it was actually a very serious and, at times difficult strategy game that garnered critical acclaim and some commercial success.

Despite its successes however, the strategic, slower pace of the game meant that its control scheme didn't really work on the 360's control pad (this was made even more visible by the more recent release of its PC counterpart), which meant that however appealing the gameplay, the entire package never felt totally right. Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise is set to change all that with its release on the Nintendo DS later this year."
