Excellent sales figures. Advanced Warfare is the best CoD game in years. Not surprising it is still the bestselling franchise.

trunkswd3381d ago

It is still the bestselling franchise for another year, but sales have declined for two straight years. When you release a new game in a franchise every year it causes market saturation and people get tired of it.

cellode3381d ago

Yeah that is true. It will still be the bestselling for several more years though.

I think people is making too much about the sales decline. Remember COD was at its peak when both the PS3 and X360 were reaching sales of over 30 plus millions....When Modern Warfare 2 was released in 2009. Games tend to decline during the later stage of the console life..especially for yearly releases. So last gen versions won't sell as much and the install base of the new gen consoles are not there yet. I don't see the sales will reach those godly MW,2,3 numbers again but sales I think will rise with the next few versions.

It's about the same as Ghost neither are anything amazing in my opinion. I was expecting more from it but yeah it's a ok game. It had maybe a slightly better campaign, actually Ghost might have been about the same for that too. Multiplayer had horrible guns and balancing in both games. Also the multiplayer is worse when it comes to internet stability, Ghost never lagged for me. Extinction mode was better than the mode AW had by far. Maybe Zombies will make it better than Ghosts but right now they both are disappointing games. I actually had fun in MW3 something Ghosts and AW just haven't given me.

I got lots of lag on my PS4 but none on my Xbox One. Although occasionally ot takes awhile for my guy to pop up in the lobby. But gameplay is rock solid. PS4 was a laggy mess.

Its kind of odd.

I wouldn't say it was the worst cod, but I was sick of it almost instantly..

Played maybe 80% of the campaign (which was cool, not great) then jump online with a bunch of friends..

Literally played 2 rounds and never once played it again.. I totally hate the direction they are taking mp which seems to be mindless meth-fueled chaos.. Why they feel the need to keep speeding up gameplay I'll never know.. Its just exacerbates their shitty netcode issues

typical. Not in the slightest bit surprised. Again.

I'm still surprised that piece of garbage Ghosts sold over 25m

That is a shame. AW is my favourite CoD. I hope they do a sequel one day.

LordoftheCritics381d ago

Thoroughly enjoyed AW.

Good campaign and everything.

LOGICWINS381d ago

Same. Fantastic campaign, but I wasn't crazy about the jetpacks in multiplayer.

RaidenBlack381d ago

I still prefer CoD based on historical settings or in near future settings(like CoD: Ghost) ... even though I liked infinite Warfare's campaign ... it was top notch

CobraKai381d ago

I felt it was a good time to revisit WW2

porkChop381d ago

I actually really enjoyed WWII. I never understood the hate it got.

JEECE381d ago

A lot of people who never played a shooter prior to like 2012 get really mad about anything that isn't a modern combat game.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare remains the series' lone bright spot this gen

GR: "If one series truly defined the seventh generation of consoles it was Call of Duty. Sadly, the series has struggled to reach the same heights on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and only Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare feels like the previous era of innovation and top-notch storytelling."

I quite enjoyed it but I think black ops 3 was the high point.

Modern warfare could be if a few tweaks are made and the new maps are good.

Baza1630d ago (Edited 1630d ago )

Story wise.. black opps 3 was all over the place. Modern Warfare story is so much more cohesive and actually makes sense.

Immorals1630d ago

Black ops 3 was terrible. The story was absolutely atrocious.

Knushwood Butt1630d ago

I quit that campaign after about an hour. All I remember is some crappy robot drone combat R2D2 thing that you had to use. I didn't make it past that.

Epicor1629d ago

For me the Black Ops installations have always been the high peaks in terms of PVP mode. Black ops 3 campaign was pretty bad though. Advanced Warfare's campaign was pretty good, one of the best ones - but PVP was bad!

gamer91630d ago

LOL Advanced Warfare, too funny

Kabaneri1630d ago

The campaign was OK, but the guns sounded like cap guns and the multiplayer maps were not memorable at all.
