Feature: Far Cry 5 Should be Set in Australia - AusGamers

AusGamers has written a feature around why they think Far Cry 5 ought to be set in Australia.

From the feature:

"Making the environment a character that is both friend and foe would be a huge step in open-world games in general, and while Far Crys 3 and 4 upped the aggro animal ante (and then some), traipsing about the jungle or Himalayas with no other concern tends to deaden the lush worlds you’re attempting to bring to life. And your worlds need to be about character."

I think that's a great idea. It would be beautiful no doubt and that's something I love about Far Cry :)

More nasty animals here than anywhere lol would be nice, I skipped the last game will get it at some point cheap I liked FC2 way more for some reason than FC3 stopped playing after an hour went co op.

Australia sounds good it certainly fits the criteria for a Far Cry game though maybe throw in another setting for the last 30% of the game like Russia or somewhere vastly different just to freshen things up.

Aren't all the locations in Far Cry fictional?

2,3,4 were all inspired by real world locations but your correct they are fictional.

Far Cry Villains To Appear In A New Comic

This is interesting news for comic and Far Cry fans as something new in the universe for the game is always welcome. Villains from popular Far Cry games are transported into prehistoric times by the priestess Batari, who has pulled them from their lives before they've committed their most heinous crimes.

Why do they make every f****** thing goofier and goofier

Watch Dogs become whacky, Assassins Creed jumped the shark, Ghost Recon become less serious now this

Garethvk23d ago

I think it is the trend. They look around and say ok; what can be done that will not infringe upon the next game and this is what happens. I heard rumors of the next Far Cry offering may be in Alaska and there was also an Online offering coming. So we get this to tide us over.

Played and enjoyed Far Cry, Far Cry 3 and 4 campaigns .

4 wasn’t so bad

Pagan Min was pretty entertaining

Skuletor41d ago

Yeah, 4 was good, was hard choosing which Golden Dawn member to side with, when they were both pieces of sh!t.
I've beaten all the main entries except 2 and 6, ended up uninstalling 6 to download something else instead.

I'd love a far cry pack with the original PC game (not the half assed port on ps360) instincts, predator even a port of far cry 2 to modern consoles back when these games had their own identity and weren't far cry 3 cut and pastel

Demetrius41d ago

Still one of my most favorite franchises along with assassins creed

banger8841d ago (Edited 41d ago )

Same here, I don't know why these games get so much hate. I've thoroughly enjoyed every single one of them, with only a couple of exceptions. I wish they'd hurry up and announce Far Cry 7. The only thing I'm concerned about is the rumoured time limit.
