This guy must be seriously dedicated and talented to be doing everything. For his sake, I really hope that the game is a commercial success. But I suppose for someone like Happ, just getting this labour of love out into the wild will be a reward unto itself.

Wow, what a guy. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Great to see some of these sorts of things get the help they deserve from programs such as Sonys pub fund. The big fish seem to have finally gotten on board with the reality that there would be no big fish without the smaller fish, who eventually grow into big fish themselves, thus completing the game industry's (and any industry's) circle of life.

Having said that, sometimes the big fish eat the smaller fish, which is sometimes good and sometimes bad.

Played some of this the other day, and as a HUGE Metroid fan, I felt right at home. This game is an instant buy. Everything from the mechanics, to the map, and the ambiance of the world felt Metroid. Here's hoping it's as incredible all the way through as it was just testing it out. :]

Looks more like a Metroid clone than a love letter to metroidvania STYLE games.

What's wrong with a Metroid clone, considering it's been how many years since we've seen a side-scroller Metroid?

If Nintendo isn't doing another 2D Metroid, I'm really glad this is filling that void.

The guy obviously loved Metroid enough to devote over 2 years of his time to making a game like it. That's a great thing, and I'm sure that passion will be seen in his work. If what I played is anything to go by, it certainly will.

So you support some guy blatantly ripping off one of Nintendo's most beloved franchises? This isn't an homage, it's a copy with a few things changed. Shadow Complex was a love letter to metroid vania classics. This is a copy of an NES game, and a poor one at that.

^^^^^Wow! Your a pouty little baby aren't you LOL!^^^^^

If Nintendo won't/can't make another 2D Metroid, last one was Metroid: Zero Mission in 2004, I think. Then i'll gladly take this "copy" hahaha!

Love these lists as i now want to check out Momodora (on PS extra) and Ender Lillies.

It's a very solid list and the best part is that I think all of them are on other platforms so more people can play them.
