Eurogamer: DualShock 3 Hands On

Eurogamer writes: "Speaking from experience, there's a lot you can do in nine months. You can make a baby, catch up on every single episode of 24, Sopranos, West Wing and Alias, and grow a mighty beard. Or you can make rude origami hats. Or, if your name's Sony, you can release the DualShock 3 in Japan and then make everyone in Europe wait for it. But like Jack Bauer during his year-long Chinese torture episode, or Sydney Bristow buried alive, we're simply not going to break. We've had decades of experience waiting for everything, which is probably why your correspondent loves Glastonbury so much: it offers endless queuing opportunities." (PS3)

Heres some advice Europe
Go buy a DS3 the minute they release then curse your SixAxis as you throw that POS out your car window on the drive home.

My sixaxis analogue sticks are mucked up, the right stick keeps facing left instead of staying in the center, looks like I'll have to buy a Dualshock then

I get the impression
that the journalist wrote that article with a distinct tone of cynicism. Like "this has been out for months, why have I been asked to write about things everyone already knows?".

Still it was quite funny. I get the feeling that he doesn't really like the DS3 as the only positive thing he said about it was that it rumbles!

I got one ages ago - because of the import options - and yes.. When played with a DualShock3 SIXAXIS feels like cheap plastic..
I got two SIXASIX´s that's only being used when I have friends over

Wow that guys seems really cynical towards Sony and DualShock3. lol

I thought the DS3 was just about right.

Their whole site is usually.

well warrented cycinism
The wait for the DS3 has been an insult to PAL territories. And then to salt the wound they charge more than double the US RPP for it.

The PAL treatment of sony has been downright shameful this gen.

But sure translating the instruction book took 6 months am i rite?

the dual-shock has always been my favorite controller but not because of sony. when i play on the 360, that controller seems too fat and bulky. but it all comes down to preferance per each individual.

man, it doesn't matter who writes articles/reviews for eurogamer; that site just doesn't like sony. constant insults toward them while complementing ms every chance they get.

for some reason i like the sixaxis alot more. i bought 2 ds3 and whenever im playing alone i like to use the sixaxis
i dont care about rumble
titntin  +   2610d ago
I'm suprised to see other people not caring about rumble. I've not had it for ages and am quite happy about it - I switch it off whenever I can on the 360. I prefer to have lighter pad, so I'd only use the Dualshock for the odd game where its of bennifit.

Of course I'll probably end up getting one eventually, as there are some games that actually benifit from it, but in my opinion, very few.

No suprises at the tone of Eurogamer's prose - they don't try very hard to hide their alliegence do they! :)

the ds3 has good build quality i got mine today iam very happy with it miles better than the launch sixaxis. i also have the sixaxis double pack and these are also better than the launch sixaxis

'the generally loveable Xbox 360 wireless pad'

this statement was enough to prove where his alliegance lies.
