Has the PS4 eaten away at the PlayStation Vita's last remaining selling point? Daniel New decides its time to take a break from Sony's handheld.
Sony has recently published a new patent that wants to dynamically handle the games' difficulty and gameplay based on the player's emotions.
This is something I might use. Sometimes I play some good games but they don’t have difficulty option and are a little too easy.
cool idea
cool idea for horror games especially
the way it's explained here sounds like it could never be forced hopefully, so that's ok with me
Sony has recruited Bungie's head of revenue Jaremy Rich to head up its live-service gaming division, Rich has announced on social media.
Please do not put Destiny’s monetization into Sony’s first party games. The monetization is what’s driving players away from Destiny.
I mean, this person made some pretty bad decisions at Bungie. I hope they've learned from them because I definitely don't see those type of ideas as good for PlaySation in general.
Ps5 gamers in 2023 seemed to play more live service types of games, so regardless to how people feel about them, numbers don’t lie and Sony is going where the money is. I mean look at the excitement around Helldivers2, people are showing that they want live service games.
How do you kill a franchise that already been killed?
Destiny’s grind, cash-in-on-playbass-cha-Ching, and pop-culture-insertion mainstream-me-too bs totally killed any rep Bungie had. Sony/Bungie, if you are doing this to ward-off players, it’s already working.
Sony has patented to add multiple dialogue modes to let players switch between how many conversations with NPCs they want in the game.
Sony is like the only ones outta the 3 that has atuff like like this pop up changing thing in ways.
And yet once again, people will ask, next cycle..hey why is Sony not making another handheld console to replace the PSVita?
its very clear, Sony has had enough of the ! "oh we care about the console" But all the AAA games it did have is just a watered down PS3 port.
well after this cycle, i doubt very much Sony is going to make yet another handheld to be. Judged on how viable the system'S worth based on the benchmark that Nintendo sets. I say good for Sony to get out of the d@mn shadow of Nintendo, and start investing into Smartphone Software apps of Android, iOS and put the games there. Like PSNow is set to do, Let Nintendo have the dedicated handheld market.
and indirectly compete like Apple and Samsung and Google and Amazon already do with app store distribution. Trying to give gamers what they want based on what Nintendo already gives them is a fruitless task.
because its very clear what they want in a dedicated handheld is exactly what Nintendo is offing. Screw trying to edge out a sliver of market share in dedicated handhelds because it will never be enough. Unless its from Nintendo
its better to just avoid this d@mn money sink and go smartphones only. Use xperia and give it playstation Now support with game pad support and freaking call it a day.
and if you have not noticed that is what Sony is doing exactly that. Gamers deserve more than just one dedicated game handheld, but the market has spoken loud and clear, gamers do not want more than one.
