The Big Business of MMO Games

It's astonishing to see the changes that have occurred during my lifetime to video gaming. When video games began to arise in the late 1970s through the 1980s, it was quite possible that just a single person could create a game. One console actually relied upon a husband and wife team to create the vast majority of their games. The financial stakes were initially small but became bigger over time. Now we've come to the point where mmo games are released to the fevered hopes and desperation of corporate shareholders and developers alike. It seems every year that the revenue pie for online gaming just continues to get bigger.
