Good looking list

My guess is that Forza 6 will be announced sometime soon for 2015.

Edit @ Rimgal, I suspect a numbered Forza Forza 6, 7, etc)will continue to come out every other year from Turn10. That leaves an empty year, every other year, for PlayGround games to bring out a Forza Horizon.

Edit 2

@ Rimgal, all your examples use the same studio to create essentially a continuation of the franchise, Turn10 is different from PlayGround games and so is the game play, i.e. closed course track racing vs social street events

Edit 3 @ BiggerBoss, you are absolutely right, edited, thx

Rimgal1080d ago (Edited 1080d ago )

Forza 6 in 2015? You want Forza to be a yearly franchise?

EDIT: That's what happens with COD. It will get to a point where people will start to lose interest. Give them time, to make a better and bigger game. Forza doesn't need to come out every year like a Fifa game.

TXIDarkAvenger1080d ago

Forza Motorsport (2005)
Forza Motorsport 2 (2007)
Forza Motorsport 3 (2009)
Forza Motorsport 4 (2011)
Forza Motorsport 5 (2013)

lolwut?

Horizon is different from the Motorsport series...

Rimgal1080d ago (Edited 1080d ago )

@TXIDarkAvenger Yeah and Ghost is different than Advanced warfare, but it's still Call of Duty.

Black Flag is different than Unity, but it's still Assassins Creed.

You get my point.

Edit: @Foehammer Last time I checked 3 different studios work on COD. So no it's not different. It's still COD every year, independently if the studio is Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer or Treyarch. It doesn't if is Black Ops, Ghost or Advanced Warfare. It's still COD.

Btw how can you edit a comment 3 hours later?

No_Limit1080d ago (Edited 1080d ago )

@Rimgal,

Don't be silly. Even though both racing games have the name 'Forza" in the title, they are completely different racing game...Motorsports is a sim racer in closed circuit and the handling is based on real world specification while Horizon is an Open World racer with a more arcade feel that lets you race anywhere with traffics coming from both direction.

Your COD example is a bad one because every version of Call of Duty is a linear FPS and you don't get an Open-world shooter every other year.

Forza 6 is definitely coming in 2015, I am 99% sure of that and if you go by how Forza 2 looked and played compared to Forza 3, then I expect a similar leap in from 5 to 6.

Rimgal1080d ago

@NO_LIMIT In Advanced Warfare has the Exoskeleton, which allow you totally different gameplay than Ghost. The campaign also allow you to upgrade the ability of your suit. Something that wasn't in COD Ghost.

In Black flag you had the naval exploration, and in Unity you are confined to the city of Paris.

I just want to know why the double standards all of the sudden.

Kiwi661080d ago

Maybe if you bothered to actually play both Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon you'd know they are different they only have the word Forza in name only as like @No - Limit said ones a circuit based racer and the other isn't

mhunterjr1080d ago (Edited 1080d ago )

The Forza horizon series is completely different from The Forza Motorsport series. Comparing it to what's going on with Assassins Creed or COD, is a gross misrepresentation of what is really happening here.

We're talking about 2 completely different takes on the racing genre (open world vs circuit) not just minor changes to time period and gameplay mechanics like AC and COD.

@MrKrispy

I get that Horizon is different than Motorsport…But what on God's green earth will be the difference between Horizon 2 (2014) and Horizon 3 (2016)? And what can Forza Motorsport 6 bring in 2015 that Motorsport 5 didn't have in 2013?

At what point does the law of diminishing returns kick in?

No_Limit1080d ago (Edited 1080d ago )

@Rimgal,

Kid, I don't know what you are trying to accomplish here with the comparison and rant about Forza but you just contradicted yourself with your last post.

In your first post, you said, "That's what happens with COD. It will get to a point where people will start to lose interest." to prove your point that releasing Forza every year is not a great idea.

When I gave you the difference between the two Forza games and that it is different from the yearly COD linear FPS gameplay, you the proceed to claim that every COD and Assassin's Creed is different because of a new suit or whatnot to altered gameplay and Assassin's Creed is set in a different location every game so it is OK for AC?

If you have played any of the Forza Horizons (which you haven't judging from your lack of knowledge of the series), you would know they are also set on different locations as well in two different game already. And unlike Assassin's Creed, it is released every other year instead of every year.

That is some kind of 180 spin there when you don't have any other better answers.

@uptownsoul.

"I get that Horizon is different than Motorsport…But what on God's green earth will be the difference between Horizon 2 (2014) and Horizon 3 (2016)? And what can Forza Motorsport 6 bring in 2015 that Motorsport 5 didn't have in 2013?"

First of all if you played the original Horizon, you know it was set in the Dessert area in the USA and Forza Horizon 2 was set in Southern Europe, has an area 3x bigger, has free roaming off-tracked, has dynamic weather, and uses the upgraded model of Forza 5.

BTW, why are you hating on Forza and what are you trying using the term diminishing returns?

As I recalled, you said this about this game and I don't see you questioning an annual sports series back then..why now?

So my question is, are you not going to buy MLB 15 The Show on your console then because your CLEARLY don't like diminishing return games. :)

uptownsoul1080d ago (Edited 1080d ago )

@No_Limit

Now I understand Horizon 2 (Xbox One) will have WAY more features than the original Horizon (Xbox 360) simply because the game went from 360 to Xbox One. But Horizon 3 in 2016 won't have a way more powerful console to debut on, so I don't see how a . And I still don't get what will bring people back to Motorsport 6 if they own Motorsport 5.

The sports games have similar problems, BUT the individual sports themselves have a fan base outside of the games that the video games can tap into. And there are millions of people who are NFL, NBA, FIFA, MLB fans that want EVERYTHING that has to do with their favorite player/team/or sport. Tons of people want to get the new versions of games because they want to see how the new roster construction is & how the rating system for each player looks. Add that to the fact that the game comes out at the beginning of each respective season (when enthusiasm is at it's highest)…Thats why the diminishing returns on sports games aren't as pronounced.

OH and by the way…I never said I didn't like diminishing return games…I just don't see what the difference between Motorsport 5 and Motorsport 6 could possibly be

No_Limit1080d ago (Edited 1080d ago )

@uptownsoul,

Too many excuses on all front from you.

1. " But Horizon 3 in 2016 won't have a way more powerful console to debut on, so I don't see how"

Hello, did my post about having it set on a new areaa nd location ring a bell? And don't be silly, graphics can always be improved since it is still early in the generation. Please look at Uncharted and Uncahrted 2, Forza 2 and Forza 3 and 4, and Halo 3 and Halo 4.

2. "The sports games have similar problems, BUT the individual sports themselves have a fan base outside of the games that the video games can tap into. And there are millions of people who are NFL, NBA, FIFA, MLB fans that want EVERYTHING that has to do with their favorite player/team/or sport."

LOL, are you saying there arn't any fans like me of the racing genre and looking forward to new Car models from the upcoming year recreated on a new game on a new system? Don't forget, Forza 5, like Forza 2, only have a handful of cars and tracks on their release and if you go by Forza 3, not only are the graphics greatly improve, but the cars and track size had doubled. I think all those are major point in bringing back fans of the racing genre.

There is a reason why Forza and Horizon are always on the top 40 UK weekly chart constantly on every versions that were released and that trend will no doubt continue with Forza 6 and Horizon 3 with a larger install base when those games are out.

3. " Add that to the fact that the game comes out at the beginning of each respective season (when enthusiasm is at it's highest)…Thats why the diminishing returns on sports games aren't as pronounced."

http://n4g.com/news/1640282...
Eurogamer: "Xbox 360 exclusive Forza Motorsport 4 has entered the charts top, kicking football phenomenon FIFA 12 down to second place."

http://metro.co.uk/2013/11/...
MVC: "Forza Motorsport 5 is best-selling Xbox One exclusive in new UK charts"

FOrza Horizon 2 also entered the chart @#3 since October and it's been on the same UK top 40 chart since.

Your point is bogus because all the latest forza games did great without a season opener. your point about if it is needed bi-annually and if gamers are tired of it...the answer is clearly no.

4. Lastly, judging by your history, your bias against XB1 has nothing to do with why you even bother to write this self opinion post. eyes rolls.

Sledgehammer? Do you mean Playground?

Sledgehammer develops COD, not FH...

Anyways, I wouldnt be surprised if Forza 6 is revealed at E3, given Forzas history

CervantesPR11079d ago

Welp if sony anounces gran turismo 7 for 2015 forza 6 will be irrelevant.

DanzoSAMA1080d ago

I am very excited for Scalebound

Rimgal1080d ago

Can't wait for Quantum Break. My main reason for buying an Xbox One.

Kingdomcome2471080d ago

I can't either. I love Remedy.

Rimgal1080d ago (Edited 1080d ago )

They never did a bad game. I bought a 360 because of Alan Wake, and I bought an X1 because of Quantum Break.

EDIT: I completely agree. Remedy are a very talented and criminally underrated studio, and Alan Wake still looks great to me.

Kingdomcome2471080d ago

I'm not putting them at Naughty Dog's level (they aren't),but they really pay attention to detail,and I think they're one of best. They also manage to get a lot out of the hardware. Alan Wake was beautiful at the time it released. Heck,it still looks good. They're great storytellers as well.

Paytaa1080d ago

I think this is the best Xbox lineup in a long time. Throw in Rare's new game(s) and whatever LXP and the other new studios are working on and I think Xbox has a very bright future more so than the 360 did. The OG Xbox days are back and I'm thrilled.

Vandamme211080d ago

Quantum break is the only game I wanna play for Xbox one.

Kingdomcome2471080d ago

To each their own. I hear that from a lot of people, though. It makes me happy because it means people recognize Remedy's talent, and the game's potential.
