It's got the best library on the market, and it doesn't look like that will change in 2015 either.
Got a wii u for my son for christmas..I havent touched my ps4 since lol.. its a great console, but that mariokart is addictive..just a warning
Bought my Wii-u and it's become my Mario kart box... Ill be buying smash brothers today, but that only because it's on special and I need more games to play on it. I would say you'll probably be like me and go back to your ps4 and come back once and a while to play some kart.
Most of the games I've seen on PS4, that I actually want to play, have also hit either PS3 or PC, so everything else is pretty much on Wii U for me.
@wonderful I've bought a douzen games for ps4 plus all the ps+ freebies... They're not all winners but they kept me entertained. Bought my Wii-u when my young kids liked playing it at toys r us back in September. Came with Mario 3d world and Nintendo land. I also bought Mario kart and that's pretty much all I play on it. Purchased smash today on Amazon and I'll wait and see if I'll like it. I'm interested in buying windwaker, but hate paying full price for remakes... Thats what bugs me about the eshop. They never have good sales. Every Nintendo game that comes out stays full price for years. That's why I'm surprised smash was 20$ off. Ps:I did not have thumb you down and people on Nintendo articles are very sensitive to Nintendo related topics. I bought a Wii-U and I'm allowed to say that nothing interest me on it. I'm not going to trade it in and it will stay in my collection for a long time.
I picked up Darksiders 2 ($8 for an 85 rated AAA game - who wouldn't), and I'd highly recommend Deus Ex Directors Cut if Dad wants an FPS type game. Also for Dad - Bayonetta 2 (two great games as it includes Bayonetta 1) MarioKart though is the best - you can pick it up and put it down fast. Our other faves were Zelda WW - my 8 yr old daughter would sit VERY happily and watch me play and help solve, and SuperMario 3d. Better buy a USB hard drive like I did ;)
Xenoblade & Legend of Zelda are two that really excite me. There are a few others as well that I can't wait to play, but those two have me really excited. Only thing that stinks is the wait is going to seem like forever, seeing as these will most likely release in the 3rd/4th quarter of 2015. * I'm actually really excited to see what Nintendo announces in the next Regular Direct & also at E32015. edit: Forgot about starfox & Yoshi's wolly world as well. Should be a solid year, & a new 3D Mario similar to Mario 64 would be the most epic announcement I think they could make.....for me personally.
Next year if nothing important is delayed it will be a year as good if not better than 2011.
Sadly a man only really has interest for zelda next year on WiiU. Already played through and sold DK, SM3DW, WW HD, and Rayman legends. Also obviously kept smash and mario kart for when people are over but their software has been lagging without any third party and with last of us, lbp3, infamous and first light, and all the awesome plus games ps4 has been getting way more exclusive use even. With the order and uncharted next year it looks to have the competition beat again. Wiiu is still a great secondary console and a man will use it for years for those 2 games (usually sell zelda games theyre not very replay able) and will remember all the fun he had with the others he mentioned as well as look forward to zelda. PS4 and wiiu, the only 2 consoles worth owning this gen, make a killer combo
I agree. I just picked up a Wii U. To be honest, I couldn't decide if I wanted to plop down the money for it or not. I've not nailed down how I feel about it yet. I've only played a few levels of Super Mario 3D World & some of the Metroid themed bit in Nintendo Land. What I've played was pretty fun so that has me optimistic that I will like more games on the system. I've owned the PS4 since launch & it's my go-to/primary game machine & the Wii U so far looks to be some fun, on the side gaming with a different flavor.
It definitely Has strength where the ps4 is weakest and that is in local multiplayer be it co-op or vs. there have been 3 HUGE releases that stress that family or friends in the same room experience (Mario 3d, smash, and kart) vs 1 for ps4 (lbp3)
@ Jaqen_Hghar - I don't play racing games or fighting games except for when I attempt to play Injustice because I like DC Comics & it was free on PS+. I would have to throw Diablo 3 in there for PS4 couch co-op games. I know what your saying though. Nintendo probably does have couch co-op games. Probably a lot more than PS4. I haven't owned a Wii U long enough to know.
I'm not into racing games either but ... MarioKart is something else. Seriously fun, and you can pick it up or put it down so you don't have to spend serious time on it.
To your "only really has interest for Zelda next year" I'd simply respond with Xenoblade and Splatoon
When was metroid announced?
long time ago by Miyamoto but nothing was shown yet. Both 2D and 3D is possibly coming.
Well the spaceship the Drake in Pikmin 3 looks almost exactly like a Metroid.
what? could i have a link or something please? LOL
Zelda, Xenoblade, FE X SMT For sure. Idk about Star Fox. Everything else ehh I could pass.
It DOESN'T have the best library of games on the market though. It is, and always will be missing the fantastic third party multiplatform games and those contribute to more than 50% of the great games you will see on the PS4/Xbone/PC. PS4 has a way more numerous and diverse lineup than the Wii U does in 2015, and has just as many, if not more exclusive games. But, I am SO looking forward to the Wii U in 2015. It's not just Fall - the entire year is looking pretty darn great.
Maybe not in 2015, but right now it does. Ps4 is stupid boring and has been all year. And what 3rd party games are "fantastic" exactly? Isn't that what a PC is for? since graphics are all the rage?
Look at all those disagrees, I'm here just keeping it real, and people can't accept another valid opinion. You're right about not in 2015. Usually when I make arguments about games lineups, I'm talking about the long-term, not short-term, so yeah, in the long-term, PS4 and Xbone and PC will have a better library of games. Wii U has been on the market for an extra year, so you can't tell me that its first year wasn't also "stupid boring" etc. That isn't knocking the Wii U since I'm a massive fan and am looking forward to Xenoblade Chronicles X, Splatoon and Zelda as much as Final Fantasy XV, Deep Down and Uncharted 4 on my PS4. I'm just telling things how they are. What third party games? This year alone the Wii U has skipped on Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, GTA V, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Diablo III, Destiny, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Minecraft, Tomb Raider, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Metro Redux, Lords of the Fallen, Alien Isolation, The Evil Within, Bound by Flame, FIFA 15 (Wii and Vita, but NOT Wii U), Dragon Age: Inquisition, Far Cry 4 and I'm missing a few more. Next year it will be skipping Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Raven's Cry, Final Fantasy XV, Dark Souls II, Resident Evil Revelations 2, Resident Evil HD Remaster, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell, Dying Light, Life is Strange, Evolve, King's Quest, Mortal Kombat X, Assassin's Creed: Victory, The Witcher 3, Battleborn, Minecraft: Story Mode, Space Hulk: Deathwing, Homefront: The Revolution, Get Even, Star Wars Battlefront, Batman: Arkham Knight (considering we had Arkham City and Origins on Wii U that is pretty bad), Just Cause 3, Human Element, Syberia III, Dead Island 2, Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age, Devil May Cry (re-releases), Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Mad Max, Hellraid, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege & The Division, and there will be more. Several huge publishers have completely stopped producing games for Wii U, which is devastating. Many publishers are even producing last-gen versions of games, but not Wii U versions, which is pretty indicative of the third party support. Please just watch this video, if you're still not convinced - https://www.youtube.com/wat... Then there's the list - https://docs.google.com/spr... I don't know where you got the whole "graphics" argument from my statement. PC is about choice and diversity. PC is an infinite platform with such an incredible amount of games that you would never see on consoles, except perhaps PS4. I'm talking about it being an impossibility for the Wii U to have the best lineup when it is skipping the vast majority of the big third party multiplatform games, and its ecosystem doesn't allow anywhere close to the same amount of diversity for smaller games than both PS4, Xbone or PC. Nintendo's first-party efforts (and a very small amount of other third party games) save it from being an irrelevant console. That is the reality.
Nintendo just keep getting better and better, These are just the games we know of, I'm excited for the ones that we don't know are coming next year, roll on e3. Ps4 and Xbone may have more games but a lot of the games are meh average at best and not worthwhile if your gamer. Majority of Wii U games are strictly for the real gamers and are going to be top quality, games you wont want to put down, games with good gameplay, games you want to replay.
Sequel after sequel in a never ending cycle. But they're always pretty good, especially gameplay wise.
Like CoD and Assassins Creed? At least Nintendo knows how to make a sequel every 4-5 years not every year, and makes them drastically different enough to remain unique. Enjoy your sales, since games are MIA.
I'm getting a Wii U next month and it will be my main console until PS4 gets some games worth buying. I'm really looking forward to going back playing classics like Earthbound and A Link To The Past as well.
