Carl Williams writes, "The Sega Genesis was the recipient of a ton of Commodore Amiga ports throughout its life, especially in the first couple of years. This was facilitated by the fact that the two machines shared A LOT in common with each other under the hood. Electronic Arts was one of the bigger companies to port many of their Amiga classics to the shiny new Sega console. Psygnosis was no different in porting their popular computer games. Gamers had no problem in supporting this influx of new games. Shadow of the Beast was one of the more popular ports that were released by Psygnosis for the Sega Genesis."
