Minority Report Designer Behind New, Motion-Controlled 360 GUI?

Kotaku writes:

Guess that Minority Report reference cut a little closer to the bone than we thought! After we posted on the rumour of a new, alternative user interface for the Xbox 360, we've since heard from sources a little closer to the matter that the GUI (graphical user interface) parts are around "95% correct". They tell us that design agency Schematic are working on the project, which is interesting when you consider two things. One, Schematic have worked on gaming interfaces before, most notably on recent EA Sports titles. Two, the Chief Creative Officer of Schematic is a Mr. Dale Herigstad. Movie and design nerds will know Herigstad as one of the the guys who designed the motion-controlled interfaces featured throughout Minority Report. If true, that's equal parts promising and awesome.

Was Totemball on XBL the prehistoric ancestor equivalent to XBL/GUI (graphical user interface)?.

Definitely interesting but this really isn't something new, this has already been implemented with the PS Eye

Tom Clancy's Endwar

And Aqua Vita

Not only for games but rumored for months to be used with the XMB as well sometime by the end of this year

Damn, this keeps sounding better and better. I really hope something comes of this.

It's funny I heard rumours that suggested as much a couple of months back ( and nobody else seemed to take notice and I personally didn't want to get my hopes up... How times have changed! :)

Can't wait.

The remote must be purchased. I guess it's fair since PS3 users had to buy a new contoller(s) to get rumble but they will still complain about it.

It was stated that there will be an option to use motion sensing or not. I would assume the appearance would be similar with either method even though you won't get the true report feel without the motion controller. No sense going over the edge until we have some definitive proof/screen shots.
