Gosh darn it. It is almost impossible to have a full collection when I have to scrounge to get them. Nintendo has a big money maker on there hands.

Retailers price gouging is disgusting. It may be the basic laws of supply and demand, but it still feels wrong for some major retailers to be adding 50%+ on to the RRP.

kneon3416d ago

These are looking like the new Beanie Babies. Prices will likely continue to rise on the secondary market for a while which allows retailers to jack up their prices. But then the price will collapse and then normalize at a more reasonable level. This is how it always goes.

I'm going out today to pre order and pay in full all wave 2 Amiibos. Wave 3 Amiibos look awesome! Can't wait for February.

RosweeSon3416d ago

Yeah got the whole range preorder and a few spares so that I can actually use a couple of them ;) I did see late last night tho that already 3 of the later batches are sold out on the official nintendo site in the U.K king Deedee, meta Knight and shulk I believe it is, Amazon have also stopped takinng orders for Zelda and Luigi from batch 2 and the official site has sold out of Little Mac also ;(

DryBoneKoopa853416d ago

Well then... Looks like Wave 3 is going to be HUGE for Nintendo and understandably so seeing how Shulk, Sonic and Mega Man and some of the other big franchise characters are all in wave 3.

iplay1up23416d ago

Don't have one, don't really want one, but uhhh, Nintendo is making MONEY...the haters, gonna hate, but yeah Nintendo is not going anywhere!

Now I think I am going to slow motion MK8, and look at the details on what haters say is "last gen" hardware, then get my butt handed to me on a plate online, at 60fps.

RosweeSon3416d ago

Yeah old hardware that can pull off 1080p ;) it may only be mario kart but man it looks good and if certain companies more expensively priced Next gen system can't match resolution then no wonder I went and bought a ps4 and wii u on launch, not a dull moment with either.

I feel bad for Smash fans. Those guys have been trying to maintain the scene active for 20+ years and get nothing but hate from Nintendo.

RoseSapphire333d ago

Sakurai explains how he and Nintendo still don't understand how the internet works.

Snookies12333d ago

Exactly, online play would be wonderful on Smash if Nintendo gave a crap about their online services. To be fair though, Nintendo's online offerings would be great if it were 15-20 years ago lol.

jambola333d ago

I've always said that Nintendo is either innovative and ahead of the curve
or 20 years behind, no in between

CrimsonWing69333d ago

I’m sorry, but if a game is MP then there’s no f*cking argument that can justify no online MP. What he says about competition being different from just playing with friends shows me how out of touch these people are.

It’s not until a new generation that understands things steps in to clean-house that we’ll see some evolution here.

Vanfernal333d ago

His argument is nonsensical. "You'd be limited to just playing people from your region". As opposed to being limited to playing people FROM YOUR COUCH!

CrimsonWing69333d ago

What I don’t get is how do you not have competition and experience the same issue if you have a friend that’s way better than you?

GoodGuy09333d ago

It's a big fighting game so online multiplayer is a must. Competitive smash is the only thing I see fun in these games anymore asides from the big character reveals, singleplayer is laughable and you ain't gunna have people over for couch gaming much.

If Nintendo makes a new smash, it needs a huge evolution for singleplayer/couch play to be enjoyable for me any more. But we all know they'll just do a deluxe edition for their next console lol. They really need to up their servers as well.

NotoriousWhiz333d ago (Edited 333d ago )

I can't imagine Nintendo producing a better smash game than ultimate. Roll it forward with a deluxe edition maybe with an extra character or two and call it a day.

Some other developers can try pushing platform fighters to the next level, because I don't think Nintendo is up to the task.

DarthZoolu332d ago

They already created a better smash brothers game than ultimate when they created melee

masterfox333d ago

he sounds more like is trying to justify Nintendo ineptitude to create a proper network infrastructure in order to Smash Brothers work properly online.
