The Wii U's 2015 is going to be one of the best years a Nintendo console has ever seen.
Agreed. Excellent lineup. I'm getting: Yoshi's Wooly World Splatoon The Legend of Zelda (Whatever they're calling it...) Devil's Third Mario Party 10 Starfox Xenoblade Chronicles X I want to get Kirby, but I hate the idea of looking at the gamepad the entire time. :/ They made such a gorgeous game. It's a shame we have to watch it on a small screen. 2015 is the best year in a long time for all three companies, honestly. Console sales will be through the roof!
Schiller, I agree with Legion and look forward to you droning on in this thread. All your copy and paste rants will prove to be rather, Anti-climactic..
2015 is the year that will cost me most in nintendo games and systems (new 3DS). Kirby, Zelda, Captain Toad, Yoshi, Majora, Starfox... insane!
It's definitely a great line-up, I'm not really bothered about Mario Party, but the rest all make me want a Wii U now. Devil's Third I need to see more to be sold on it, but it looks fun and with all the system sellers it's one of those games I'd buy if I had a Wii U, so it's probably something I'd get for a more mature vibe from Nintendo. Zelda and Starfox are the big ones for me, they really make me want a Wii U, but the likes of Splatoon, Yoshi and Xenoblade are all a great part of the package too. Kirby I think it'll be like trying to touch type for the first time when you play that game, in the beginning you feel like you have to keep looking at the pad, but after a while you just do what you have to by feel and can concentrate on the big screen (unless you're playing only on the pad of course). I don't think that Nintendo will be falling behind on sales like some people think next year, I think Wii U will definitely move numbers in 2015 and there's also the rest of the library from this year and 2013 that the 2015 line-up builds on. 2015 will be a great year.
"Legendary" is too big a word to throw around. Unless we get like Earthbound or SMRPG 2, keep the hyperbole to a minimum.
Well technically a "Legend" of Zelda game is innately legendary. No hyperbole here.
Considering that Xenoblade Chronicles X is the spiritual successor to arguably the best JRPG from last gen, and one of the best ever, I'd say "legendary" is not an overstatement. Also, Mother 4 (fan made, approved by Shigesato Itoi) is coming out soon so you might wanna check that out. Being the huge Mother fan that I am, I sure will!
Very intriguing line up, never owned a Ninty console but that might change in the near future.
As someone who is always looking for couch co-op games it is looking like a great investment for me. I'm picking a bundle up next year for sure. Would have this year, but I have enough going on and I have a feeling it'll hit $250 next year.
DUDE, get ray man legends, ITS AMAZING, along with EVERY MULTIPLAYER GAME THAT COME OUT OF NINTENDOS DEVS
Just seems like a generic lineup of good games, something I expect at least. Nintendo 1st Party franchises like Star Fox and Yoshi are or should be a given. Where's the surprises? Give me some new HD remasters like SSBM or Mario Kart Double Dash. How about we see a new Ice Climbers game, or even hear something about Pokemon X. Dunno. Regardless, it's no dpubt a good, even a great year. But that word legendary pissed me off for some reason. Give me Pokemon MMO, or a new 3DS Advanced Wars. Whatever.
So Nintendo finally announces a Starfox and it gets called a "given". Not to mention Splatoon which is a new IP, another thing people constantly ask for, is ignored. Maybe Nintendo should just quit the game industry and make movies cause gamers are impossible to please.
'generlic line up of good games' lol
I would kill for a new 3DS Advance Wars...
I like how they have Elma in the middle of the picture, make sure everyone knows what the best game of 2015 is going to be. 2014 is going to be amazing for all gamers. gonna give 1998 a run for its money as best year in games. matter of fact, it's looking really familiar. Ozarina of time- Zelda U MGS- MGSV Tomb raider 3- rise of the tomb raider crash 3 - uncharted 4 Xenogears- xenoblade chronicles X StarCraft: Brood war- StarCraft2 Legacy of the Void. Plus many more great games. now we just need half life 3 2015 release
Wiiu is amazing, i don't see how can anyone not buying one
Xenoblade X is my most anticipated game.
I'm hoping for a Metroid, Animal Crossing and Mario Galaxy for WiiU on E3. This year for me: New Zelda Splatoon Xenoblade Chronicles X
Every new console's 2015 is going to be legendary. I can get most stuff on Wii U + PC though and I've got an Xbox for Halo & Scalebound.
2015 Is Going To Be Legendary for one reason the massive lead PS4 has and MS & Nintendo trying everything too slow them down with great games.
Still waiting for greatness or does Sony send you a percentage of console sales :)
I don't personally care about a single one of these games. What I want is sequels to Mario 3D World and Land. Their 2015 lineup isn't as impressive as their 2014 lineup though. Nintendo's biggest franchise is Mario Kart and their second is probably SSB.
Mario Kart and Smash are definitely their biggest franchises in terms of popularity, but not necessarily game quality. Next year Nintendo is releasing Zelda and Xenoblade Chronicles X. Both games will be spectacular, most likely. Those are way too awesome games to have both in the same year.
Its gonna be LEGEND.. wait for it..... Nope sorry I can't wait for it. GIVE IT TO ME NOWWW!! dary
Hope not. Hope Nintendo dies in the arse so they eventually do a sega and make software only. Nintendo games on my Playstation than I Wouldn't have to purchase two consoles. Ah a man can dream. Yes yes don't get ya knickers in a knot. I do love Nintendo but I love my money more.
To be honest, I'd rather it be the other way around. Sony pulling a Sega and putting their games in Nintendo consoles. And Nintendo focusing, once again, in powerful hardware, along with their control experiments, just like they did with all of their consoles before the Wii. But honestly... I don't want neither of those companies suffer, so I prefer them to be healthy in the videogames department and have their own hardware. If that means I have to spend a bit more money on an extra console every 6 or 7 years, so be it. It's not really that big of a sacrifice.
300 bucks for a console is a drop in the bucket if you have a video game hobby. That's only the equivalent of 5 games. And you get one or two games free. Check your wallet again and ask it why it's so tight. EDIT, Wiiu its only $50 bucks a year on a 6 year life cycle. $4.16 a month. OR $0.13 cents per day. Surely you could find that laying on the ground or in the cushions of your couch.
Few months ago yeah but trying to go through police academy and having no wage while living off my savings, ain't gonna happen for a while lol. Really would love to purchase a wii u though.
Is it weird that 2015 is the most excited I've ever been for games? Splatoon... Zelda... Star Fox... Kirby... Devil's 3rd... X... I can't keep listing them all- there's too many amazing games! Nintendo is spoiling us!
My problem with the Wii U so far is that most of its quality games are "Family Friendly" plataformers and in my case I need some more variety. Lets hope 2015 Brings enough games to make the line up more attractive for gamers like me.
I dunno, there aren't many platformers. Yoshi and Kirby are the only ones that come to mind, and Kirby's really unique. Most are family friendly, however, yes.
Super Mario 3D world Donkey Kong country tropical freeze New Super Mario Wii U New Super Luigi U Yoshi (upcoming) Kirby (Upcoming) all those games were developed or are being developed by Nintendo and I'm not counting Mario Maker, for me as a Developer they are focusing too much resources in one type of games (family friendly plataformers)
You haven't really looked if you can't find variety on Wii u. off the top of my head zombi U Bayonetta 1 and 2 Deus ex Tekken assassins creed batman wonderful 101 Super smash bro trine shovel night wind waker cod watch dogs giana sisters Next year New Zelda star Fox splatoon devils third possible metroid possible f zero Xenoblade chronicles project cars And whatever else they haven't told us about yet.
Most of those games I have for other plataforms (XboX 360, Ps3 or PC) When I get a Wii U (because I'll eventually get one) Bayonetta and Smash will be on my list to get along with Mario 3D World, MK8 and Pikmin 3, but none of those games are console sellers for me, Zelda and Metroid are.
So what type of games do you want? It looks like nintendo might be free for request! They almost make everything!
Adventure games, Shooters, RPGs,Action, in the end the only genre I don't like is racers but as of right now must of the games from those other genres I can get a better version than the Wii U for any other of the plataforms I have (PS3, XBOX 360 and PC) English is not my native language so please excuse any mistakes I could have made.
No problem. Do you want to attach any names with those types and what are your all time favorite games in those game type.
Of course: Plataformer: Mario Galaxy FPS: Cant pick just one, Half Life 2, Bioshock, Modern Warfare, Crysis, Battlefield 2,3 and BC2, no one lives for ever, Time splitter 2 and the list goes on. RPGs: the same case, imposible to pick one but KOTOR, Mass Effect 1&2, Fallout 3, Final Fantasy VII, IX and X, Xenosaga, Baten Kaitos, Suikoden III, Lunar and many many more. Adventure: Every Zelda games, ico, Shadow of the colosus, Beyond good and Evil, Darksiders 1&2 (I know they are kind of RPG-ish). Well you get the idea, that's the kind of Variety I thinj the wii U lacks (considering that I had an Xbox 360 and a PS3 before it came out).
No article of bashing in WII U in N4G? SHOCKED!
Maybe. It's certainly going to be a big year for Nintendo platforms in general, especially (for me) if they localize the new Ace Attorney game. But for the WiiU specifically? Eh, I'm not entirely sold on Xenoblade yet--really didn't care for the combat system of the first game. And it still seems the PC is going to have the best time of it. So many huge indy KS titles coming out in 2015.
As far as Xenoblade X' combat goes, we still don't know much about it beyond the bare bones battle system that share's obvious similarities to the original Xenoblade 1. We know some things have returned such as auto attacks, special moves requiring a cool down time and the "B" button prompts during combat. In addition, there's a newly implemented enemy limb decapitation system, allowing you to seemingly select and cut of certain body parts , which may add a new dynamic layer into the battle system as well as possibly used for obtaining specific loot from certain monsters. It seems as if central art-like attacks may also returned, although X has also introduced the ability for players to have secondary functions to their weapons. We don't know if the original game's Topple system and spike effect elements will be returning and the same can be said of the party chain attacks. We also don't know if there's any unique battle system mechanics/ elements while piloting giant mechs.
