Mike Fahey of Kotaku writes "Two days ago I was bored with Driveclub." "Today each race is exhilarating, often terrifyingly so, and all that's changed is the weather."
I agree, it adds so much and just amazes
weather simulator :D
i really want to try this game out, visually it looks fantastic
I got this game when it first came out. Last night i played it with the storm. My wife walked in and literally asked me, "Can we watch another movie, I dont like fast and furious.". I was WTF? This is not a movie this is a video game. She thought i was lying.
Fasts and Furious doesn't even come close visually. Yeah I said that.
I'm glad you said that because I agree.
It sure does: http://i.imgur.com/jIwMJmq.... http://fc05.deviantart.net/... http://fc06.deviantart.net/... http://media.giphy.com/medi... I held off on buying the game because of the technical issues. But I think I may have to bite now, the weather update just looks too good to pass up. Some of these GIFs and YT videos I've been seeing on GAF are unreal. It's a literal game changer.
well... in theory you should be able to test it out free with a PS+ version if Sony keeps their word on releasing it eventually.
Nah, I think I'll just buy the full game. I know I want it, and have wanted it since it launched, but didn't for reasons stated above. Although I think I may wait a little longer, maybe until some of the free DLC releases. GTA V takes up almost all of my gaming time lately anyway. :P This weather update sure makes me excited to finally play it, though. Looks incredible.
That looks amazing!
the offline has worked wonderfully from the start, online features might not have worked but single player/offline has been great.
This update made me buy the season Pass #Noregrets this game blows me away and the rain affects the way your car handles and the visibility GOOD GOD that visibility is amazing that mist that winsheild streaks whooooooo boyyyyy lemme tell you picking the best looking games of this generation is gonna be hard.
I am right there with you, I was meant to get it this Dec as I was waiting for weather and photomode Now it is all here with online on track, free cars and tracks added plus free dlc. I am ready for Driveclub and The Order 1886 in Februrary
Ive mainly held off because I'm a single player gamer and I thought it might be to online centric for me, but I always wanted to try it on the Plus version. Its just looks to gorgeous now, I really want to give it a go. I might pick it up if I see it on sale. The other reason I'm bummed on racing games is no Logitech support, but theres not much I can do about that.
I heard it was $35 on Amazon. Assuming you're from the US, that is.
If you like racing games, time trials, races and drifting single player has had all of that from the start.
The game has a great single player mode - a story. The multiplayer aspect provides challenges. You don't have to race others but you can and probably will spend hours trying to beat the best target time on your favorite track, or the players that finished milliseconds before you. I love this game
@Lukas_Japonicus Thanks!! I picked it up from Amazon when I read your comment. :)
Unfortunately Evo went with Thrustmaster for wheels. Hopefully Evo will add support for Logitech in a patch, but it may not be very likely. Thank god, Polyphony prefers Logitech wheels as Gran Turismo demands a wheel setup.
Get it, you won't regret it
Im interested in giving this a go now. Any thoughts on a good racing wheel with gears etc for this?
No idea, sorry man.
looks like a great addition for the game.
"Just when I think you can't get anymore beautiful, you go and do something like this..., and totally re-beautify yourself!" I still haven't played this as I'm not really big on racing games per say, but I really want to give it a go.
love that the wipers actually wipe away the water and you can see the streaks and everything
the game is freakin awesome. excellent game.
This isn't hyperbole but i ran home to play last night and i couldn't believe what i was seeing. This game is gorgeous, the weather portion is phenomenol.
Looks great, but I can't drive for sh*t in the rain/snow :(
just like in real life. rain and snow make it harder to drive at high speed
but the AI cars don't seem to have this problem
I held off because of all the other titles but I am going to pick it up down the road.
In a way its a real shame the game isnt launching today. Sure a second delay would have met with all kinds of criticism, it is a Sony game afterall and not much gets by the critics, but The Witchers 2nd delay was met with nothing but, Good choice, give us a complete game. If Driveclub was releasing today with weather and photomode all working (as well as online) the initial reception would have been quite different indeed.
Really cool feature, hope they add it to GT7, but as for this game, unless the price has dropped, it's just not worth my money, not enough features and content. Their "Club" feature has started a really cool trend in Racing games, you see the crew and Forza H2 adopting it.
"Brazil weather"? there is no Brazil in Driveclub... OT: had this game since launch, never got bored with it, but weather DLC does give this game it's finishing touch.
I'm not into racers but I'm interested in picking this up for my PS4. I'm a sucker for photorealistic graphics.
I knew this game would get better with time, Ima have to pick this up again.
First race I entered with full on raging storm and the lightning struck one of the electricity towers, throwing sparks all over the track. Brilliant!
I am having a blast with this game - and I am not even good at racing games!
Mother of god...that's the best looking rain I have ever seen... O_O
I'm finding the development cycle of this game really unique. Drive club more or less launched broken but promising. It has then been progressively updated, repaired, waxed & polished & is now looking absolutely amazing. How far is this progress going to continue? I'm amazed.
Better than FH2. Just sayin
I own FH2 and I have to agree, however FH2 looks fantastic also, loved it!
I have played FH2 and to be honest, I didn't care for the handling in the game. It felt entirely too "floaty" to me and maybe it's just me, but it feels like there's some weird disconnect between the car and the road. It has that weird effect where the car is sitting still and everything moves around it instead of feeling the opposite. From a pure handling perspective, I find Driveclub to be superior.
So I am thinking of buying this game now, is it worth it? has everything being fixed now all the technical issues, etc. Thank you! :)
Yes it's more than worth it!
I've always stated that Dc was so underrated, and the more times goes by the more this holds true... What a shame from both Evo not fixing it in time, and the media playing the double standard all the way!!! Piece of advise, if you can grab it, you won't regret it for sure!!!
