Chris Freeman explores his feelings towards the Uncharted series and prompted by the 15 minutes gameplay footage from PlayStation Experience ponders the question : "Why do we love the Uncharted games so much"
I've loved the series for the best in class visuals, great story telling and acting. One thing I really loved about Uncharted was that when you visited the mythical hidden cities in the end, they genuinely were mind blowing.Like the kind of feeling you got all those years ago when watching something like Indiana Jones or when you saw Hogwarts (dont shoot me)- genuine amazement. Nathan Drake as a character is brilliant too. I do wish they had gone with the darker tone though. I think there is a lot of depth in his character if ND take risks. Anyway, I can't wait to see what UC4 will have.
Give me uncharted 1-3 on ps4. Either through psnow or port please
Maybe Naughty Dog (since they're bound to busy as hell!) could farm out a remastering or maybe take the Masterchief collection route and just redo the games top to bottom for PS4.
Or how about they just focus on uncharted 4 and their unannounced game to make it the best it can possibly be?
hence the phrase "farm out" (which if you didn't know, means get someone else to do it)
While I would love that, I think the Master Chief collection is a much easier sell to consumers, and it can make the money back easily and surely. Uncharted, while, popular, is no where near as popumonolithic as Halo. Sidenote: Remember, only the non-hd Halos (1 & 2), received an overhaul, the others just received a resolution bump and lighting overhaul. All the Uncharteds are already in hd, so a top to bottom redo is unlikely.
The jump from UC1 > UC2, was a mind blow in just about every way. UC2 > UC3, not so much, but the excitement was there. Uncharted 4 looks like it's adding enough of the new, whilst borrowing mechanics and ideas from The Last of Us to make that jump almost as significant as Uncharted 2 was. All of that was Alpha gameplay too, so we've got ways to go before defining what Uncharted 4 may bring to the franchise. There's no doubt that they're on to a winner though.
Its made by Naughty Dog creators of many great games. So there's a 99% chance that the game will be great.
Absolutely. It looked great, but what I was really impressed with was the character animation and movement fluidity, the a.i., and the incredible level design. Classic Naughty Dog, and it feels like Uncharted, even without me getting hands on. Exceptional.
Love Uncharted 1-3 on PS3. I still play Uncharted 3 online. A community of dedicated fans And a lot of fun to play.
