Polycount’s member ‘djoexe’ has been working these past months on a recreation of Silent Hill P.T. in Unreal Engine 4, and released a couple of days ago a flythrough video from it.
I still think the original P.T. looks just as good or better.
Duh? This was made by one guy.
pretty impressive. UE4 is a beast.
Original PT environment was probably made by one guy as well -- but a very seasoned artist. Maybe the few character moments were done by someone else. That's based on my experience as a developer. Of course the very effective sound was done by another person. But this guy did a good job and if he's not in the industry it's great promo material. A bit of lack of imagination perhaps but it's bullet proof for getting attention.
well, video wasnt trying to make it better than the original teaser. it was more of showing of the effects and proving how easy it is to make something like that on ue4. well done to that one man who made this. also like to point out that konima stated that he made p.t. to look amatuerish/indie so that it would have been a shock to see the ending. p.t. was also probably something that was just showing off the engine and how lighting can change the look of certain textures.
Fox Engine > All engines. Fact.
Not really but whatever.
So basically this shows how terrible the Unreal Engine truly is. Fox Engine is so much better.
I think it doesnt look as good as the original version. Everything seems without structure and flat. And the enviroment effects arent even close to the original version.
