Also don't forget the video store.

I wasn't too interested in Home until I read a small preview in OPM, saying that Sony or 3rd party companies can hold virtual press events complete with ads and everything. It just sounds so cool to imagine hundreds of people all in one place like a real press event.

bloody hell i bin thinking they should do that since the verry 1st time i herd abwt home!!! imagine press conferences where evri 1 around the world can watch it live! gna b huge! cant wait.. microsoft will no doubt assimilate this idea.

3. VIDEO STORE
4. KZ2
5. RFOM 2

THIS IS LIVING NOT THIS IS LIVING FOR TWO YEARS LOL DO YOU AGREE THERES MORE IN STOCK FOR US?

joydestroy3819d ago

they're going to be updating it for a while actually. the possibilities are endless.

it took them so long because they never really thought about putting these types of features in their console so they had to sit down and code it and then make it work. give them credit. this article kind of bashes them. stop your b!tching, you asked for 2.40 and now you're getting it, jeez.

Seriously, it got me thinking. I can literally say to my friends, "hey you wanna hit up that virtual press event on the 30th? they've got some videos WE could watch and some good announcements"

Sure it doesn't beat going to a real life press event, but hey this is all about online interactivity isn't it? And this by far got me mostly intrigued with this HOME thing.

conferences in home are they live??????
that would be kick ass!

I dunno. It could be great but I'm honestly not all that hyped for it anymore. The trophies and in-game xmb are great to me. NExt I'd like a video store (coming), a music store, and maybe some of those great Sony television shows.

Oh and the PS1 and PS2 classics. For F's sake Sony, that's money you're missing out on big time.

In terms of firmware - NO. Even if the firmware 2.40 arrives, the PS3 would still be lacking some options. I dont know if i understood Eric's comment in the FAQ that they are planning to bring up the game invite system similar to the XBOX 360. Because at the moment its up to the developer to make gaming invite system for their game, whereas on 360 its already there - in the system. As the COD4 402 said, PS3 COD4 game invite system was built from a scratch.

So when that option arrives I would consider PS3 as a finished product.
Buy anyway .. its good the way it is now with the FW 2.40 coming very soon.

Sony can continue adding updates & new functionality to the PS3 as long as their is space on the HDD.

The PS3 software system engineers said this themselves.

We'll be seeing updates for quite awhile. Sony is committed to this.

PS3 is evolving entertainment. Look at the PS3 at January 2007 if you don't believe me. Year and a couple of months later we can access our PS3 anywhere in the world.

I'm with you on this one, as long Sony wants to keep going, the PS3 will never be finished. The evolution of the product has been amazing to this point, and I doubt if it will stop evolving until it's at the end of it's cycle. I mean if you think about how far it's come since it's release, and then realize, we're barely into the life cycle - it's hard to imagine where it's going! I'm pumped!

I don't think any product will ever be 'finished' as there is always something to be improved on, something more to add, to satisfy someone else.

Admittedly, FW2.4 has taken a HUGE step in the right direction, but when people finally download it and start using it practically; they'll inevitably find further things to put forward to Sony to implement in a future update.

This is to be expected, as nothing is perfect and nothing can satisfy everyone's needs/wants.
