A new bug is causing problems for Halo: The Master Chief Collection users, who are already dealing with uneven teams and matchmaking issues online.
im very patient, but this is getting ridiculous now.
I'm patient also and I usually understand that in todays gaming world a few bug fix/patches is expected over the first few days but let's call a spade a spade, 343 simply messed up. Yeah they did alot right for this collection but the matchmaking somehow wasn't properly tested. I'm not really bothered by this bug, I'd say it's more of a minor cosmetic annoyance but considering all the other much more serious problems I and many others have experienced with the matchmaking its really ridiculous that 343 hasn't got their shiii together yet, really as a bigtime Halo fan I'm pretty disgusted that such a great remaster has stumbled out of the gate with online issues. Given the importance of this franchise and knowing that millions of Halo fans were waiting to invest allot of time with it both offline AND of course online it really is ridiculous that it's taken them so long to fix things properly.
I really don't like seeing issues like this, especially with the frequency with which new generation games are having problems. I also wish the nonsense of comparing Sony's network to Microsoft's network would go away, they both have their moments of inefficiency. I game on both, and have run into problems on both on several occasions. I for one hope this doesn't continue into 2015, there are so many good looking titles coming, it would really be a buzzkill if next year's titles have the same crippling issues at launch and beyond.
just let it die already..
Actually, with just 2 weeks on the market TMCC has already outsold every PS4 exclusive except 2, those have been out for months: http://www.vgchartz.com/yea... BTW, the top exclusive is TitanFall Edit, @ Zuggercat, so let me get this straight, games like NoMansky, H1Z1, Planetoid 2, StreetFighter 5, are all NOT exclusive?
Foehammer: 1. Vgchartz is not a valid source. 2. Titanfall is not an exclusive.
giving them a pass. what they're trying to achieve has never been done on console. idk/idc about pc.
Unplayable for me now. Legacy controls no longer work on multiplayer. I'm not anticipating a quick fix on this as I bet 95% of ppl use default controls.
Is fun when it works but I don't got the patient to keep waiting to play big team. idk the reason why they took out h4 and swat playlist when they still have not fix the rest of the playlist
only removed it to make the others better. every day it has gotten better for me. the less playlists you would assume, the less traffic
"I just downloaded the latest update and now every time I leave matchmaking my UI background disappears and becomes solid black. "I can still use the UI, though not sure if this is a sign anything else keeps erroring out or its ok to continue? Only way to restore the UI background is a hard reset of the application/game. Sigh." Really... you're crying because a background? At least the game started to finally work correctly. People disagreeing, I guess a background is that important...
Yeah, it kinda is actually. I know it might seem like small thing to complain about, but this is just the latest in a long list of issues plaguing Halo Master Chief Collection. A game should bloody well work properly when you've spent good money on it. Sticking up for devs when they put out buggy games just helps in reinforcing a bad habit, and will only lead to more games getting pushed out the door before they're ready.
Still, a simple bug like this can be easily reported, but does it really need an article with this click bait? Do you really need that post game background? It's not a game breaking bug, just a simple cosmetic bug.
I mean i find it kinda annoying that when i actually get into a game that i have to reboot my system after finishing a match... you must have alot of time on your hands or must not get frustrated easily like myself
@Killz4Twinkies Why reboot for something that it's not directly bothering your gameplay time? If you have seen the bug, here: https://www.youtube.com/wat... It doesn't affect the game that much...
Halo won't save for me. Not only that but when I turn on my XB1 it doesn't let me instantly play Halo (I have to boot up the disk again). Does anyone else have this problem? The campaigns would be completely unplayable for me if it didn't give you the option of choosing a mission.
Hmmm.... I could be way off, but needing to boot up the disk is because you don't have a digital copy, so it checks for the disk... maybe it is just random that it does that.. cuz i have HALO MCC on disk, but I never have to reboot the game. It's almost always in the drive. but to be honest, it Sounds more like it's related to your Autoplay settings and power settings. I have my xbox one set to never auto play, and I have it set to power saving mode. Purely because I don't need the system on at all times. I don't mind downloading updates separately, and I prefer to let my console actually "turn off" instead of instant on with kinect voice commands and such. I want my console to last. I don't need to shorten it's lifespan in any way by using instant on settings. Even if the short lifespan is just a burned out power supply, I want to avoid any problems. I don't know if this will help, but maybe you can look at your settings and try to figure out the best fit for you
Mine won't save unless I go in and do it my self so no auto save. And since the last system update my launch edition Xboxone stays on after I shut it off sometimes with the light on and sometimes with just the fan going. And the fan in the power brick is half broken and make a loud buzzing sound half the time now like it is going to take lift off or explode. But hey it worked great up until just after Nov 22 my one year warranty was up and is not 100% broken ......yet,so M$ should be very proud and happy.lol
Old, new update is out, was just released, like 10 mins ago.
How the f**k is MS' bread and butter franchise struggling so bad?
It's not the redone collection is because someone decided not to test it properly.
this article is 2000 late
I just wish my campaign progress hadnt been reset, i havent turned the game back on since i realized how far it set me back
First Driveclub for Sony and now Halo for MS ...WTF!?!?!?! I hope this isnt going to become a standard issue now when an anticipated big game releases we have to deal with shit like this due to the online portion of the games.
i've said this in multiple articles. These issues will never be fixed in my opinion. It was a huge undertaking, they had to remove playlist to help improve matchmaking when it launched which it really didnt. The server side updates improved a little, but reverted back to the original problem. The subsequent game updates have improved times, but the uneven matchmaking is getting annoying and also not being able to reconnect after the match. THen having to go through the whole matchmaking or joining of a party again. Many of the playlist say "ranked coming soon", my guess is, they will be busy fixing this to even complete a ranked for the other modes and once they do, halo 5 will be out . MS missed a great opportunity to regain some of the halo crowd for the entire year, but 343 goofed, didni't qa this properly. Big games have issues, i get it, but the issues plagued many games and 343 should of done whatever testing they needed to do to prevent a significant issue such as this, especially for such a big franchise. Horrible experience.
They screwed big time. Don't blame the devs, I'm sure MS pushed them to not delay the collection.
I am not really too thrilled with the Matchmaking side of things, but the campaigns work flawlessly for me so I'm happy. My guess is once the Halo 5 beta is underway, they will have more staff to dedicate to the beta and to TMCC matchmaking. I'm sure they kinda just expected sone of the features and pieces to fit together better, and now that they are actually dealing with the product in the wild they are now seeing what they missed. I'm sure it all worked in lan games and closed networks SIMULATING on online environment, but the actual online environment is much less stable, and more difficult to get up to par. I am still too big of a Halo fan to be mad because once it all works perfectly, I will be in heaven. Besides, I've played all these games online before (excluding H2A MP) and H2A MP is working pretty well for me so far. I am gonna hold off on getting mad.. for now. now if this crap is still going on in January, then we'll have a real situation on our hands.
"January"? Microsoft has sold close to 2 million copies of this collection of redo rereleases....this is a huge problem from the day it released and a even bigger one a week shy of a month after release. They need this fixed today. With that said I'm sure they are working on it day and night just like The DriveClub Developer was working on DC. Let's hope they get it taken care of soon. Maybe one day soon the industry can get together and meet and discuss this problem and come up with a solution as their have been nothing but problems with the AAA releases on the X1 and PS4 with both multiplats and exclusives. Something needs to be done If this was any other industry with product problems on release the company that released them would be out of bussiness. It's alread past the point that gamers should pass on any new game until it's proven that that game has no issues and its a safe purchase. This is not a platform problem it's a industry problem and they need to work together to fix it. Next gen gaming is not next gen gaming on any level to this point. Let's hope these sort of problems get fixed in year 2.
Halo is dead to me. I'm really starting to believe this is so bad it can't be fixed.
BRING BACK HALO 4!!!! Wtf?!?!?!
Never liked the series. Best one out of them all was Halo 2. Should've stopped while they we're ahead.
It's what I was saying with Halo 4. From the top down, they are poorly managed and lead. It was the small details but it said to me these guys aren't worthy of doing Halo. Might sound overly critical, but I'm not surprised at this latest fumble.
I've had issues with this game since launch, the deal breaker being the multiplayer issues. I'm a pretty patient guy but, considering my schedule allows for maybe 2hrs of gaming every other day, I don't have all the time in the world to wait for the game to place me in a match. I was really excited for this release, but it's turning out to be a huge let down for me.
To be honest I finished the Halo 2 Anniversary about two weeks ago and I havent been back because of the issues and annoying glitches like starting from the beginning of the level, or black screen during gameplay after a save and only being able to see what was happening through the pause menu. After finishing that and trying multiplayer again I havent looked back to it. I just wish they had the stand alone version of Halo 2 Anniversary, maybe then the bugs would be minimal. :/
