Dedicated events bring community together instead of dividing it. That's why Microsoft and Nintendo should think about holding their own version of the PlayStation Experience.
Good thing Sony is making this an annual thing.Which IMo is a good thing. It gives your fanbase stuff to look forward to the following year.
MS are going to have to copy (yet again) another Sony trend to have any chance of staying relevant.
I think they used to do it back in the days ,
MS do actually have their own annual games showing. Although it did kinda die out at the end of the 360's life. X(Xbox Show) http://en.m.wikipedia.org/w...
microsoft has done a great job you know why? they get way more attention from sony fans than nintendo. so not only are they relevant but also on their minds 24/7. the xbox one has likely already surpassed wii u sales but sony diehard supporters always seem to focus on the xbox. i say that makes them very relevant. microsoft really does need to expand on e3. maybe they should be doing something like nintendo does with those nintendo direct videos to keep people updated all year.
Stop being a Fanboy, and realize MS has had events like this multiple times for their fans. Ms stopped, now Sony just did theirs, on the eve of their 20th anniversary btw. Ms will revert back to having their own expo and continue the trend they started, no 20th ann. required to please their fans. Also when Ms did it, it was completely free, unlike Sony, which is why MS's version was more consumer friendly.
Lmao damn got 6 disagrees for something i believed happened, and jjonez18 backed it up for me lol
The fact that PlayStation has tons of games on the production pipeline is the reason behind PSX. Sony knows that hey have to spread out all the announcements throughout the year as they won't fit in the current game shows like E3, Gamescom, PAX, Game Awards, TGS, etc. Its a good sign that the PlayStation brand has huge amount of game development going on compared to Nintendo and Microsoft. And this is a good sign for the PS Vita too. Games Galore for all PlayStation gamers worldwide.
Amen brother. More games>less games. Sony understands the maths.
Agree, very cool event that caters to the fans PS Experience is great
I'm super happy they made PSX an annual thing. Sucks for VGA because all the playstation fans will be looking at the other stream.
I know a lot of people who complained the key notes where "a let down" but they key notes is not what PSX is about. It's about playing games. I live in the UK so I only get to experience that, but if I was there I'd be buzzing as most of what was shown is playable which is awesome. Playable games is the main draw for PSX not the key notes.
It was great advertising for pc aswell with all the pc ports they were showing.
Great article. There is so much devisiveness in gaming its good to see some positivity.
I completely agree! Leave some surprises for E3, but Sony can do whatever they want at an event like this. I look forward to more gameplay today!
nope was complete n utter waste of time the only things worth watching was uc4 the order n bloodbourne which every1 already new about no new reveals the rest was just plain old embarrsin anouncing indie games on stage lol n what media moducule n santa monica showed was beyond laughable n this comeing from someone that was looking forward to this and a ps4 owner
PSX is here to stay. If you watched the keynote you could see the big support of the fans. The place was completely full. Kudos to Sony for such a celebration uniting both the big, middle and indie community with the fans and the PlayStation executive as Shu and Adam. To the Xbox community, keep hating the indie community. There is a reason why the PS4 is home now to indies and why indies preffer the PlayStation community.
I thought it was a fabulous event personally. The quanity, quality and variety of games on show was staggering with only one or two missteps, mainly the FF7 reveal (gutted that it wasnt a remake). I have long felt that there is way to much negativity in games media, even the likes of Giantbomb who I respect and watch daily as a paying subscriber are off putting to watch at times because they come across as jaded. Thats why I enjoyed this event so much, it really did feel like everyone was celebrating games and Playstation, there was a really positive vibe.
Glad it's annual
Excited about PSX being annual thing.
