Abash1100d ago

I honestly don'r know which Im more hyped for, Street Fighter 5 or Tekken 7? Dammit these two games are going to take up all my time

CaspuR1099d ago

tekken for me, been playing it since the first one. sf is cool to but tekken means more 2 me.

RiseofScorpio1099d ago

You have plenty of time seeing as SFV is a 2018 release.

mikeslemonade1099d ago

Fighting is a lame genre. Right next to RTS and Racing games.

Panda is fun to play with though.

radler1100d ago

Shame there's no new Marvel vs. Capcom.

Majin-vegeta1100d ago

Dont think we'll see another one soon cuz they lost the rights to Marvel.

This game looks awesome.

First Tekken game I've wanted to play in a long time.

btw How is Tekken vs SF for Vita ?

* This game should sell good on the XB1 considering it doesn't have to compete against SF5 for sales in the fighting game genre on that console.

Either way, there seems to be a nice resurgence in the fighting game genre in recent years.

I've never been a huge fighting game fan...I mean I play them from time to time, but I don't have an arcade stick or memorize a ton of combos, I just like playing them a few times a year.

KI isn't my thing, but this game looks solid.

Seems 2015 is a good year for us fighting gamers.

MKX, T7, SFV and just incoming was GGXrd.

Only SNK needs to announce a new KOF or Samurai Shodown and Namco should surprise us with TxSF and a new SoulCalibur which brings the series back to its roots.

RiseofScorpio1099d ago

SfV is 2018, for the 30th anniversary.

This is still Alpha, right? 'Cause it looks exactly like a Tekken 6 build.

Darkwatchman1100d ago

The graphics are awful. I remember when Tekken 6 came out. The graphics were pretty mediocre. Certainly it was better than Tekken 5, but hardly the generational leap it should have been. Then, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 was a MASSIVE visual improvement. I'm kind of scared that Tekken on this generation will follow the same fate with Tekken 7 not really looking like it's making use of the generational gap, instead waiting until a Tekken 8 or tag tournament 3 until we see what this franchise could REALLY look like on this generation of consoles.

The lighting in Tekken 7 so far is on another level compared to 6 and Tag 2

I'm not saying it's some of the best for next-gen, but it's definitely better than previous games.
The video is super blurry, but there's a noticeable difference.

The character models are the only problems. It seems they just re-used models from Tag 2 and changed their faces a bit(Xiaoyu looks way different now). I hope they improve the models. This was further highlighted when they revealed the new character Lucky Chloe. She looked way outdated with blocky edges and laughable textures, specially on her blocky hair.

Fighting games have traditionally really pushed visual fidelity because of how simple and focused they are. I can't say this was particularly special. I want to see
-the snow deform properly
-the fighters show more evidence of the beating they take
-the invisible walls... Not be a thing.

But I prefer doa, virtua fighter, street fighter, and soul calibur. Tekken always felt clunky to me.

q8kik1099d ago

Tekken is anything but clunky

Volkama1099d ago (Edited 1099d ago )

Relative to virtua fighter it is imo. Not saying Tekken is bad, just not my bag. Same for killer instinct. But mortal Kombat games, I say those are bad :)

I'll buy this game if it becomes a real visual showpiece, or if it introduces something awesome to the genre. But if it's just more of the same Tekken I'll skip it.

Still, cool to see the fighting genre making this little resurgence.

bladesofagony1099d ago

Tekken is different than rest of the games you have mentioned, Tekken is always known for flexible mechanics and swift controls, and that is where every other fighting game fails, period

Vandamme211100d ago

This is looking really awesome but where is jin kazama.

q8kik1099d ago

Dead i believe along with wang, Anna and Eddie .
Don't quote me on this.

DanaBlack1100d ago

Always pictured Tekken as the Playstation fighting game, dunno why

Volkama1099d ago (Edited 1099d ago )

Because it was. Same as Ridge Racer was/is a playstation racer despite launching on other platforms.

Those games were a massive part of the first playstation's identity. I think most people still associate them with the brand. At least most of us older gamers anyways :)
