Dan contends that while PlayStation is bigger than ever, the spark that made it great 20 years ago just isn't there any more.
"Dan contends that while PlayStation is bigger than ever, the spark that made it great 20 years ago just isn't there any more." Hilarious! The gaming world is going crazy over the epic showing just had today and the fanboy's in the media are in full damage control. Today Sony once again demonstrated why Playstation has been the top selling console 17 of the last 20 years. And why the PS4 is the fastest selling console in history. Sony and the PS4: * The largest and most diverse first party studio lineup * The massive graphical power advantage over the wimpy Xbox One * The best online service * The strongest support from all three major console regions: Japan, the US, and Europe * The strongest support from independent developers Yep, Danny, 'no spark'.
Really when you read the article it is much more of an indictment of video game consoles in general, not really on the PlayStation 4 (though it is obviously included).
"lifespan developers are already reaching the system’s capacity, it seems incredibly unlikely that the PS4 is going to have a similarly long shelf-life as its predecessors." There has allways been limits on every console from launch. You could not put 1000 high resolution enemies on the screen even if you wanted in last gen or this gen. Games will still look better and run smoother every year from now when developers find and create new game engines etc... Sorry for my bad english, but maybe you get the idea what i wanted to say.
