Adam Shepherd writes: "There's really no getting away from it; Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is pure fanservice, down to its bones. It's a 'greatest hits' album, or one of those clip-show compilations that sitcoms run when they start getting into their eighth season and running out of ideas. Oh, make no mistake, it's still a very solid game, but it doesn't really want anyone new to join its clubhouse. The game takes virtually every opportunity to bring back previous characters from the series, to the point of having the four playable characters being NPC 'also-rans' from previous titles."
