With the announcement of the Anniversary Edition Skewed and Reviewed have posted an opinion piece which asks if the bundle gives clues to Sony's long term plans ahead of the Playstation Expo this weekend.
Its a grayish silver color. Looks pretty cool, a little nostalgic.
Where can I buy this? I usually own a couple consoles during a generation and only reserve it for slick editions like MGS, slim, and maybe one day a vintage resident evil style. But this, this brings me back to Christmas opening a gift that turns out to be a PS1 and the dual disc MGS. Basically cemented my gaming addiction that continues to this day. Edit: emailed my buddy who manages my local EB games. Hopefully I can get one of these. Totally awesome collectors item.
I think you can order via Sony.
I had to go out and buy the white one the same generation Sony decided to start pumping out all kinds of nice colours. Oh well, it's not a big deal. I'm just kind of concerned about when white accessories will become easier to get a hold of. Wouldn't mind a white stand and camera over here in Canada.
Only issue with white is possible yellowing and staining.
Hated that grey colour way back when, hate it as much now. Not quite as bad as yellowing plastic, however
It looked nice for it's time especially with the form factor being an advertisement for CD compatibility lol. Now it looks even sleeker, though I would probably sooner spring for a silver model after seeing that DQ SKU.
Silver would be nice, I'd love a clear one with a neon blue glow, but I'm sure that'd cost a small fortune!
Yes, the subtle grey metallic hints at a bright future. More secrets likely lay in wait within the black trim edges... who knows!
I love the new 20th Anniversary Theme with the PS1 boot up sound! Downloaded it about half an hour. This 20th Anniversary PS4 looks great too, I'm sure collectors will snap them up quickly seeing as they're only going to be available in limited quantities.
What? I've never seen straw grasping as much as this. No...its the 20th anniversary. So they made a limited edition sku. Done.
They've sold 15mill so far how is it straw grasping ....
I guess he's talking about the article
No...rumours and even confirmations of unnanounced emulation plans have been in the works for awhile. This is a great time to announce those plans.
So Sony is going to now allow emulation for older games right after launching their playstation now service that aims to do the same thing? Right.....
Does Sony’s Anniversary Edition PS 4 Offers Clues To Their Future Plans And Playstation Expo Reveals? What is this the davinci code? Look closelier.
This will be 60K on eBay one day lol
Wow really you are complaining about 30 bucks extra for a limited to 12300 systems individually numbered now that is grasping straws. I would gladly pay $100 more to get one guarantee.
Sexy. I hope I can get my paws on one of these.
Could be that Sony is close to making PS4 backwards compatible for PS1 and PS2 games. PSX this weekend would be a perfect time to announce this!
This was my guess awhile back and this SKU definitely points to that. I suppose we'll have PSone classics soon, but I think the PS2 BC will just be the few downloadable titles we saw last gen? I would love if they included PS3 remasters like the GoW collection and ICO and SotC. They did rumour that PS2 BC would happen though...hmmm... would love to not pay again and use my discs but that might be me being too hopeful.
Lets not forget the software update today as well.
I would love to be able to play all former OS games on the PS4 but hardware wise its not practical due to programming differences. That being said if they were to bring that in, what a coup it would be fir Sony.
That would defeat the need of playstation now and Sony already said that backward comparability with the other 3 system isn't possible because the different infrastructures. If you didn't get a 60 gig PS3 at launch you're out of luck because that was the only one with the PS1/2 chip built into it
Have one of those. My understanding was that it was only PS 2 and one of the updates removed it.
