those are Destiny servers not xbox live and according to xbox live none of their services are affected as of now:

Xbox Live Core Services up and running
Purchase and Content Usage up and running
Website up and running
TV, Music and Video up and running
Social and Gaming up and running

are u sure what area u from? i think xbl servers in my area is down. im in the bay area. i know its xbl because im online on my laptop leaving this msg. usually can do that through the 360 browser but if u cannot connect to xbl u cant use the 360 browser.

I'd actually go along with it and give them dummy information to see how it goes.

Last time I did that with a craiglist scam I gave the guy messed up math equations and [email protected] as pay pal info.
