One Year of Greatness: The PlayStation 4

An article on PlayStation Enthusiast reads:

To call the PS4’s first full year on the market “good” would be a bold-faced understatement. If anything; it’s been great — the very word that Sony themselves have been using to market their shiny new system. With that being the case — it’s hard to believe how much stuff has happened, and the magnitude of it all. Has the PS4 returned the “PlayStation” name back to the glory of the late PS2 days? Let’s review some of the highlights that has helped shaped its amazing first year.

There's a lot of potential to be realized.

a Long term investment.

in spite of that, It's been a good year for Sony's PS4.

Can the same be said about the end-user's experience on PS4?

I think they have a lot of work to do feature-wise, but in terms of GAMES going forward, they have it sealed up. 2015 is looking incredible for them throughout the year.

Every PlayStation console has taken time to warm up in terms of a games lineup and after that point, it's intensely impressive going forward. "Greatness awaits" is probably the most honest marketing slogan ever produced, because everyone knows what to expect from PlayStation consoles in the long-term.

In my opinion the console doesnt justify the sales in it's first year but anyone who has spent time with Playstation knows the best is yet to come.

Exactly. There is no game on PS4 that says 15m sales in a year, but PS4 has sold on hype, good word of mouth and promise, based on Sonys 2 decades of history. We all know the games will come, its a given. The machine is just not great yet.

All the article says is how great the future looks and how well is selling, never even says nothing about the title "one-year-of-greatness&qu ot;. Fanboys when is this going to end.

To tell you the truth, this year my PS4 been very lacking and kind of disappointed that there is not at least one big Fall exclusive blockbuster AAA release from them this year (no, Driveclub and LBP3 just isn't any AAA titles of any significant) as oppose to Nintendo and MS. But TLOU HD and third party games like Dragon Age and GTAV were pretty cool though. 2015 should be a better year for PS4 as Bloddborne and Uncharted 4 already makes it two must own games for next year plus no doubt therw will be a few more unannounced games as well.

Honestly the ps4 has had a great 1st yr its been a hell of alot better than the ps3s thats for sure the only thing it lacked in was a packed holiday of exclusives which isnt to bad considering exclusives were spread pretty good this yr. 2015 looks to be even better

Marvel ultimate Alliance fight night 3 and rainbow six kept me busy

Blackleg-sanji1083d ago

Thays the thing tho its all opinions u see how u listed 3 games that kept u busy the 1st yr i can to im still playing knack(gf loves it) killzone sf multiplayer and the last of us remastered and soom guilty gear xrd so id say overall its opinions at the end of the day but the no games thing is quite annoying ill agree tho that its missing some ps3 features is upsetting
