Far Cry 4 Review — Explosions, Usurpers, Honey Badgers, Oh My | The Koalition

Emily Lemay from The Koalition writes:

"When the internet told me that honey badgers don’t give a hoot, I really wish I had listened. If there’s anything we should really take away from Far Cry 4, it’s that all animals will inevitably hurt you, and it’s best if you blow up some humans instead.

The highly anticipated release of Far Cry 4 came and went without a lot of complaint, and in today’s game-sphere, that says a lot. It’s predecessor, Far Cry 3, saw the rise and whiny decline of bratty wannabe bad boy Jason, so in order to create a new invigorating story, Ubisoft needed to step up their game if they had any chance of avoiding another trope-riddled plot. And boy, does Far Cry 4 deliver."

Yeah, I just use the sidearm signature shotgun. I strictly use it for animals and driving. With the increased hip-fire accuracy perk, and the shotgun it's no sweat.

Where is the challenge in that? I'm playing it on hard and I only hunt with the bow try it like that and tell me its easy lol some peoples kids will never learn!!!

I'm playing on hard as well, but after completely upgrading the majority of my crafting items the animals just became more of a nuisance than anything. So are you hunting your Rhinos with the bow?

The animals are ridiculous in this game. You can unload a whole clip from your Assault rifle into the noggin of a tiger at point blank range and it is still charging you! Those doggies are a little better, it only takes 4 or 5 shotgun blasts to the face to take them out. Forget using a sniper rifle from a distance. 2 or three direct hits to the skull and the animals shake it off like a mosquito bite. Then there are those damn eagles. They come out of no where and take out most of your health. It is a freaking bird, it shouldn't do that much damage, and in reality they would avoid humans. The humans however, body armor or not go down with a single sniper round.

The enemy damage system in this game is laughable.
