GameSpot presents a comprehensive buyer's guide for Wii U, PS4 and Xbox One.
PS4 first. Wii U, if you already have the PS4. An Xbox One if you already have the other two.
That's how I been approaching it from the beginning. Got the PS4 first, which was always gonna happen. Just picked up an XB1 today at the MS Store in my local mall (I'm setting it up right now). I just have have the Wii U to get now and get it I will. When that will be is another question. See my post just before this one in the "Xbox Sells 8m.." article for a hint as to why...
If you have a decent gaming PC, you could hold off on the PS4 a bit longer. Wii U is already worth picking up, as you won't find those exclusives anywhere else. Some of the good games aren't full price, like they are on PS4 and Xbox One. PS4 Exclusives can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... Remember, many of these are still pending release. Whatever you do - have fun!
Wii-UUUUUU if-Sony-MS-not-your-cup-of-te a. more-variety-on-wii-U.....wii -U-not-stuck-on-open-world-mili tary-and-zombie-only-format-gam es. wii-U-have-beautiful-color-Fu n-games-for-Everyone. not-selective-group-of-gamers ....(hardcore-only)group as-Sony-MS
Xbox one then Wii U that's all you need console wise.
That's if you're fine with missing out on some of the best exclusives of the generation. If you have a PS4, wii U and PC you're not missing out on much.
Why would you need the PS4 when you have a PC?
@Steelmanner Its for the console exclusives. Jrpgs for me to be exact and same goes for Wii U, exclusives!
I don't know what games are on it have no interest in any Sony products.
Well if you don't know what games are on it how do you know it's not for you? ;)
i bought an xbox one because it appeals to me with that being said buy the console that appeals to you.
What is your problem? Coming in here talking sense..... :)
All of them if we are saying that money isn't a problem.
Buy the one that your friends have. Simple as that.
So you never make your own decision.
I dont know about you but 90% of my time on consoles is spent playing with my friends. Im not going to be the lone person to get the other console. I tried that in the past and ended up selling the console after 6 months.
Honestly, I own all 3 and couldn't imagine being a gamer without having all the systems. Ya, I play my Wii U and PS4 equal amounts, and Xbox One the least, BUT, I need that Halo Master Chief. Gotta have it. How can I be a gamer and not have that game? Smash and Bayonetta 2- how can I be a gamer and not have those games? As for PS4, it's the best place to play multiplats. As a gamer, how could I not have a PS4 to play multiplats on? Same goes for 3DS. Persona Q, gotta have it. Fire Emblem Awakening, gotta have it. Smash on the go, gotta have it. The only system I would consider unnecessary is the Vita. It's just more or less a luxury if you own the other four platforms. Still worth having though, if just for Final Fantasy X.
I Think Xbox one is the best choice
Currently the PS3 is dirt cheap and has an amazing library that includes nearly every genre. It also functions well on it's own, dated browser aside.
except my ps3 sounds like jet engine after an hour of online gaming
You can find them dirt cheap on craigslist. I snagged my slim for $40. I wouldn't buy the SuperSlim, it seems cheaply made IMO. You also may want to check out the Pro Elite High Performance Wireless Controller by Power A if you favor the Xbox 360 controller. You won't be disappointed. JamesBondage - CFW is the way to go, so you can tweak fan speed, among other things. Also, some quality thermal paste on the CPU/RSX does wonders for an aging PS3.
playstaion 4 game like the order 1886 uncharted 4 and bloodborne games that appeal to me as for multiplats ps4 seems to have the better multiplats i may get a wiiu later on for the mario games and im not sure to keen on xbox one at moment there some exclusive that look good but probaly end up on pc later on
build a pc.. i know i know, but seriously.. you get way more bang for your buck, ridiculously cheap games with steam sales and such. mods up the kazoo.. and at any time when you feel like its not performing as awesome as it should.. you can upgrade it!
The one the majority of your friends have I've had an X1 since launch and a ps4 since infamous oh and a wii u since Xmas last year it's really lonely I wish I'd have waited maybe not on the wii u cause there are games I play on my own anyway zelda bayonetta ect but if ur gonna be the first from your group to get a next gen ask ur friends when and what they are getting u can always pick up the other consoles for exclusives later if u absolutely have to have them all but seriously it's not worth upgrading to any unless u have people to play with although you might be the solo gamer type if so all the systems have some fantastic games so far I'd say infamous second son, Titanfall, sunset overdrive, bayonetta 2 and Marion kart 8 are some of my favourites but yea just my opinion
Just to be clear that list of games is just the ones I have played I'm sure there are a few games on all systems that I havn't played and am missing out on
Lmfao. Way to subjective on the UI and controller side of things, and zero mention of the games when talking about x1, save for the idies (another negative). I just hate when a site doesn't bother to try and list the pros and cons...Just the cons. Then again, this site was never very good
I only own a PS4 but i highly reccomend it. But I've seen and used the other two and they are both great systems. In the end its all down to the games. If you want the superior version of multiplats and Sony exclusives get a PS4. If you don't mind playing slightly inferior versions of multiplats and love Microsoft franchises get an Xbox One. If you don't mind not buying 3rd party games but love high quality Nintendo games than get a Wii U. This holiday season I'm planning on buying a 2DS for my pokemon fix and the Wii U once Zelda comes out. I'm not planning on buying an Xbox One because most of what I play are multiplats and I'm not really interested in Halo and Gears.
The ps4 is very noticeably more powerful than the Xbox one even if websites try to downplay it, but right now it costs more. Personally I just paid the extra and got a ps4, it plays games better and has the best looking upcoming lineup. Bloodbourne , uncharted, silent hills, planet side 2, and I'm sure something else will turn out well.
Have you played on the Xbox One ? Just got the PS4 and you can make a statement like that? Which games does it play so much better? Sounds like your a Sony fanboy to me.
This is only part of the story, but here is a list of games and the resolution and frame rate they target. http://m.ca.ign.com/wikis/x... Let's face it, the ps4 has a much better gpu and will perform better in 99% of all games. Last gen it was closer, but this gen it's quite noticeable.
Got my xbox one. Get a bonus in February, so getting a ps4 if the Order turns out to be good, or naughty dog release an uncharted remastered collection. Otherwise, it'll be a Wii u.
Judging by the sales difference I'd say the majority have spoken. PS2 days all over again. And the rest, as they say, is history.
I got a xone and a ps4... i think that both systems are nearly the same. Playing The Walking Dead right now on PS4 and this game is an example how important a great story is for a game. Before Walking Dead i finished TLOU, one of the greatest games of all time. Can wait for The Order and Quantum Break...
If you have to choose one think of the games that you want most. That should help you decide. Whatever you do though don't take GameSpot's opinion on anything. They barely know what they are talking about on any system.
What Games Console Should I Buy? PS4 fanboys: "Definitely PS4! UC4 is coming in 2014, Xbone sucks!" X1 Fanboys: "No PS4 has no games and PSN sucks! Choose X1 better online and Call of Duty!" Wii U Fanboys: "Wii U! Wii U!" Me: "Commodore 64! b!tches!"
The ps4 is better, but the Xbox one is cheaper.
