PSP 2 To Feature Touch Screen?

According to this patent application filed by a certain Phil Harrison in July this year, Sony are planning some kind of mobile device with a touch screen and motion sensing. In addition, another patent filed just days ago regarding data transfer is almost certainly from the same device. It's obviously not clear whether this could be a successor to the PSP, or whether it's just for a new phone (the much rumoured PlayStation Phone?) but it's interesting all the same.

For a start i dont get this how can phil harrison file a patent under the sony name if he doesnt even work for them ??

Yeah we had the same thought.

But why reply to the number one guy. He didn't submit this story nor did he say anything about Phil.

On the face of it the itPhone/iTouch with its screen and accelerometer, except the pressure sensitive part

Not for gaming, but for other stuff. PSP/PS3 Messaging, XMB navi, etc. I think it'll work out more that way then as a gaming aspect. My opinion of course.

Yeah because of this site im never suprised when something is announced. I will have read about 50 rumor stories on it before hand.
