IGN: Supernova 2: Spacewar Review

Supernova 2: Spacewar is a decent skeleton of a 4X space game right now. Flesh it out with additional races and racial differences, custom ship design, diplomacy, and research trees that are more varied and flexible, and up the presentation values a bit, and you'd have an interesting strategy game. As it is now, it's difficult to recommend to even the hungriest of 4X space game fans, since they will invariably already have better options, such as the original Master of Orion (1 and 2) and the newer Galactic Civilizations 2. This game deserves to be swallowed up by a black hole, but IGN think the black hole would spit it back out.
