Bill Gates will leave his day-to-day role at Microsoft June 27, 2008 to dedicate more time to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Together with Melinda, who is also increasing her presence at the foundation, Bill will focus on raising global awareness of the foundation's issues, building high-level partnerships worldwide and helping shape foundation strategies. He will continue to serve as chairman and technical advisor to Microsoft in a part-time role.
