Gale writes -"Of course, Assassin’s Creed Rogue also has its share of hitches that keep it from being truly brilliant. I’ve mentioned the contextuality of player actions and the way freeform movement is way too “sticky”. Combat is the same as it always was – too reliant on mindless blocking/countering. Loading times also kept me waiting longer than is acceptable – a feat that reminded me what console I’m playing the game on. Regardless of the now ancient hardware it’s running on, Rogue is looking absolutely magnificent with vast open levels and loads of objects on-screen at any given time. It really is dragging the last atoms of strength out of the old generation of consoles, and I’d love to see it released on PC at least, if not on Xbox One and PS4. Assassin’s Creed Rogue’s greatest asset are its characters and the storyline, but also the fact that the game is filled to the brim with objects of interest – if you know what you’re looking for. "
