Assassin’s Creed: Unity embargo scandal prompts Ubisoft to revise review policies

VG24/7: "Assassin’s Creed: Unity reviews were embargoed for half a day after the game was available in shops, but don’t expect Ubisoft to repeat this tactic."

I say BS lol! You know why I say BS, because they should of release the game when its ready. Don't annually release this game everytime. I notice many developers don't post the games are gold and ready to ship(This is to make sure that there is little to no problems are in the game). Gamers should demand that the developers tell them that their games are gold and ready. I never hear from Ubisoft that Assassin Creed Unity and Rogue went gold. Its important that developer meet their milestone for every game they release. They need to change their policy on release dates for games. They should tell us the release date when they are more confident that the game is ready.

Gamers should protest with their dollar, and demand that the game goes gold first than ship.

You do realize that this game has been in development for 3 years right?

Ashunderfire863448d ago

I heard 4 years, but they never said anything about going gold! Every game developers milestone before the game ships to the public. Only a few developers posted their game going gold to the public, like Naughty Dog for the Last of Us, Creative Assembly for Alien Isolation, and etc. My argument is justified here, so it doesn't matter if the game was in development for years. They should of release it when it is ready. Too much blame on the developers, when its really management and publishers making bad decisions on when the is release. Its no wonder why many developers are doing their own thing with Kickstarter.

Every industry has these issues

Some companies I’ve worked for were great and some were toxic as hell (UPS when I was a teenager was extremely toxic and I have heard it still is) It all starts at the top. They either hold people accountable , set standards and treat people with respect or the crap rolls downhill.
