Den of Geek continues their review of Halo: The Master Chief Collection by examining what makes Halo 2 so great. It's the best game in the series.
For multiplayer? No doubt. Single Player I would argue still goes to Halo: Combat Evolved.
Naw Halo 3 beats them all in campaign. Halo 1 is runner up, Halo 2 is 3rd and Halo 4 is last. But for multiplayer I have to give it to Halo 2.
I agree, scarab battles in halo 3 put it right at the top.
I liked the Halo 3 campaign a lot, but nothing beets the your first encounter with the mysterious Halo for the first time.
the only good HAlO was HALO CE (actually it was not simply good , it was stellar) all others are below the average and sell because of the great potential of the first game (and the non-existant Xbox exclusives games)...
Ive always like Halo, H2, H3, Reach, ODST in that order. Didnt play 4.
I've said that sentence so many times this week
I'm weird. Mine goes H:CE, Reach, H4, H2, ODST, lastly H3. I loved Reach, because I had read the book back in 2002. And I never got into H3 because being my grad year, I just wasn't gaming all that much, and by the time I got to it I wasn't overwhelmed.
HALO CE was best campaign .
It would be my favourite if the Library level wasnt so infuriatingly long and pointless.
I'm going with Halo 4 for single player, MP I enjoyed Halo 3 the most. Halo 2 MP and SP was hampered by hardware limitations with small maps, streaming issues, and simple geometry.
I really liked halo 4, it got a lot more hate than it deserved. Sprinting was a much needed feature but the perk system needed to be dropped.
My favourite was Reach, so many feels.
Vehicle hijacking...nuff said !
Halo 4 is my favorite followed by halo 2. I love halo 4 MP i dont really get why its so hated on.
What has always made Halo so great is that every player starts on the same playing field and that players are competing for map control over power weapon spawns. Things like perks, killstreaks, custom loadouts directly go against that. That's the basic reason why people disliked it.
Yes i can agree with the perks and loadouts going against the flow but the gameplay imo is top notch. Sprinting is much needed in halo. I just simply enjoy the feel of Halo4 more than i did any other halo.
lol what a joke. Halo 2's campaign is straight up garbage, save for maybe 2 or 3 levels. No doubt Halo 2's multiplayer was unforgettable, but half a great game doesn't make it the best in the series. Mechanically speaking Bungie really downgraded a lot of things from what they were in CE (nerfed weapon firing distances, very short grenade throwing arcs, VERY limited max ammo capacities in weapons, enemy AI worse than CE's, first person weapon animations more stiff/rigid, obnoxiously close 3rd person vehicle camera angles, etc.), not to mention the HUGE list of cut features for the game. Half of the things mentioned in the early info blowouts of the game never even made it into the final version. I would still argue Reach is the most well rounded Halo in the series IMO. It's the most consistently solid across the board and objectively and undeniably has the most features and customization out of any entry in the series, still.
Halo 2 is the worst for me. Bungie had their development of Halo 2 interupted, and had to rush it into a finished product... There's an old interview somewhere where bungie even declare it the worst in the series. I can understand why as they said its development was an absolute nightmare.
This should be obvious. Halo 2 is the peak of the series. After this the quality was still high but was slowly sinking.
For me for maybe I like the whole cinematic moments got,
For me it's a tie between Halo 1 and 4.
