Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Sells 3.72 Million Units First Week in the US

VGChartz Writes: "First week sales figures in the US for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare are in. The franchise has been one of the top sellers every holiday for many years now, but seen a decline the last couple of years. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has sold a combined 3,722,031 units at retail in the US.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare like with past games in the franchise sold the most on the Xbox consoles. The Xbox One was the top platform for the game with 1,293,397 units sold. The PlayStation 4 was the second biggest platform with 1,249,181 units sold.

The last generation consoles lagged behind in sales as gamers slowly upgrade to a new generation of consoles. The Xbox 360 version of the game sold 765,471 units, while the PlayStation 3 version sold 390,788 units."

MS picked a hell of a partner in Activision. A million less consoles and still outselling ( and no bundles are counted). Pretty good!

Btw Anyone down for some AC:Unity on coop, Gamertag: OOMagnum,on now.

PaulKersey1408d ago

Where does it say no bundles were counted?

Jaqen_Hghar1408d ago

all bundles were counted actually

venom061408d ago

This really doesn't mean much as the first week was pretty much based on HYPE, PR/marketing spin and IGN fanboying (most other review sites piggyback off IGN anyway)..... let's see how this sells once word of mouth spreads about issues, frustrations and WTF moments in the game and if the devs actually addresses these issues....

Ripsta7th1408d ago

It only beat the ps4 by 50k though, for now

Pogmathoin1408d ago

and? Is that a good sign for Xbox, or bad for PS4 in the fact they have millions more consoles sold?

raWfodog1408d ago (Edited 1408d ago )

@ Pogmathoin

PS4 is only outselling XB1 by about 1 million consoles in the US. Not millions...

And its already generally recognized that CoD sells better on XB platforms over PS so this is really no surprise to many.

Its better to wait until after the new year to get a better idea of the holiday sales figures.

Skipped last few CODs because i was boycotting them but im having fun with this one, i even enjoy most of the maps even though it feels like they skimped out on the number available. I rarely see campers which is great and the mp is more fast paced than before. The character customization in terms of armor is really good. Sledgehammer kudos you guys did a good job reviving a stale franchise!!!

Ps4 version by the way.

GiggMan1408d ago (Edited 1408d ago )

I thought I read somewhere with "more official numbers" that the PS4 had the most units sold. The Xbox "brand" sold the most copies (360 and X1 combined)

It doesn't matter but just curious that VGChartz has the X1 selling the most copies on all platforms.

Edit: here is the article I mentioned.

green1408d ago (Edited 1408d ago )

That article refers to the United Kingdom only.

GiggMan1408d ago

Oh okay, cool. Thanks for pointing that out.

I admit that I just skimmed through it.
