Bandai Namco has now released a new trailer for Tekken 7 which shows off some of the gameplay and explains more of the new features.
Looks pretty good! :)
looks good for arcade indeed, but if it gets a console port i am not sure this is the actual standard. DOA looks nice on PS4 and that's a cross gen game.
As an old fan of the franchise, I'm excited and worried at the same time. I mean gameplay wise I am not sure these new features are fun.. but I havent played it so idk
Looking really Good, also thank goodness for youtube 60fps
It looks ok but could be better. I mean; it doesn't seem to look like a big step over the character models from the last game. There's not a whole lot going on in the environments. You'd think they could place more polygons in the character models. I guess I was hoping to be blown away with their use of the Unreal 4 engine. I'll pick it up anyway.
Outdated footage. This was an Alpha test. Not many people will be aware of this, which is a problem. https://twitter.com/Harada_...
Agreed, it doesn't look like a big step over the character models from the last game. I want more atmospherics effects. Smoke, shadows, etc.
that's because this is just a test version. Everything is just a prototype for the game. Models, characters, costumes, the new fighting mechanics are all temporary and may or may not be included in the game. This isn't even the arcade version. This is a test version that they're having people play on specific dates only to gather info for the game.
@kowan Agreed, I know this is just an early build of the game. But I have notice most fighting games don't have enough atmospherics effects. That include last gen fighting games. I don't want average looking atmospherics effects. I want deep shadows on multiple levels, smoke effect like never before, etc. Hopefully, the final build of the game would have the atmospherics effects I speak of implemented in Tekken 7.
@jhoward585 Yea, man! Imagine punching someone through smoke and have the smoke effected? Even light beams through smoke that get disturbed and just have dust effects when punching? Would add sooo much more. At this point from what I see in the video, sometimes there's hardly cast shadows... Been a fan since Tekken 1 but this looks a bit better than Tekken 6. Might not be enough for me to pick up. I've only skipped Tekken 4 in the franchise. I want hard punches delivered! I remember when Tekken 3 came out, no videogame delivered a punch like Tekken. You could feel it. But now its just more of the same so its getting old. Last of Us did a good job with brutal impacts, I think Tekken can step that up again.
Damn! Those muscles!
series needs a reboot in my opinion
what for ? for a story only a few cares about ? Whatever changes might be needed can be brought in any sequel
Looks very promising. The odd-numbered Tekkens in my opinion have always been the best so my expectations for 7 are quite high.
Tekken 4 will always be my favorite Tekken. It's true that it has a smaller roster compared to 3, 5, and 6, but I've always loved the fighting system which wasn't always based on body juggling. Furthermore the music was flatout awesome which made the environments feel so real. Lastly I liked how each character felt so mature and with modern personalities like in our today's society, unlike 5 and 6 where many of the characters were just plain silly and dumb.
Absolute rubbish, Tekken 2 will always be the king of fighters ;)
so for now PS4 only?
Arcade only for now
Can't wait till they add the other characters I use. Only ones that I use in this build are Leo and Ling.
Oh come on why won't you show Jin?!
Oh good grief, have they added super moves when at low health?
The story doesnt suck like Tekken 6!
It's the end of the Mishima saga so i don't think it will.
Could not see any difference with tekken 6. Pfff what a pity
Looks like a 360 game!!
Some better shaders, but the blurring effect found in tekken 6 isn't in here, and that is essential when characters move this fast. 60 fps or not, it's unacceptable to have a dot bolt from one end of the screen to the other, without any squash and stretch or blurring happening to tween the frames. It will never look smooth. Namco blew us away with Tekken 6, and now Tekken 7 looks like... well... Tekken 6... or Tekken 5.9 tbh. Which is a damn shame, but I'll reserve full judgement until some proper console footage is released on the final build. Considering my username you can imagine the hopes I have for this franchise.
