Think Assassin’s Creed might not be as great as everyone thinks it is? You’re not alone. Gamemoir's Nick D. takes you through his top five reasons why Assassin’s Creed is a terrible series.
I've got a better title for this article. "Click Me! I'm dissing a popular series!"
the article onestly bashing AC series and it is absolute right in all of his points ..the game is repetitive crap with no purpose at all (just killing people ) ..also the historical times and events in the games ridiculously made without having any relation with reality or talented fiction ...is just a borrowing of names right and there
Paraphrasing previous South Park episode, Assassin's Creed is a goodmium game which entices you with bare bones of fun and promises to deliver it with DLC or a sequel, which is repeated with every iteration. It had so much to go for, but they butchered every aspect of it. The historical theme is a cringing joke, gameplay is a barely tested prank(AC4 sneaking missions are retarded) and boring killfest(one click kills, being pretty much invincible with poor difficulty and combat system), AC4 was pretty much the same as AC2 despite having 6 games in between them. This is a fairly well argumented article. Assassin's Creed is a shit squeezed out of posh butt, produced from really expensive materials. Despite having adequate technology in today's time, the premise behind the game is executed poorly. I bet by nutsack that each one of us pictured every single AC game being much better than it came out. Not to mention the awful glitchfest accompanying every release(like parkouring pedestrians, random collision detection or lack of actual AI).
@hay totally agree ..bubble for you ..for me AC was never appealing , i could understand the poor quality of the game even by its demos ..i never really bought one (although i have played them extensively) and as it seems i never will
"This game is terrible." Reasons 1 - 5 are basically just this guy saying, "It's terrible." That's gaming journalism at it's finest.
It's terrible because I said so, basically. lol It's so stupid how some people in our society want to tear down anything that is successful or popular.
Opinion pieces are not synonymous with journalism.
I don't think it's terrible but personally I find it boring just like the GTA series.
Yeah, I actually liked Black Flags a lot and got to over 90% completion in the singleplayer, there were a few wrecks and high level ships I didn't end up chasing. The others I sort of got halfway through the story and got sick of it, which is about as far as I got in any of the GTA games and Red Dead Redemption. The AC multiplayer I find more stressful than fun, it's not frustrating because it's quite easy, I just find it too nerve wracking, like Splinter Cell MP.
People complain about AC every year. Yet the game consistently sells well and people keep playing it... It can't be that bad.
I like them
Series peaked with AC II...perfection
Meh...I think AC 2 is overrated. It became popular to put that one on a pedestal, but I don't think it is that special. Other games in the series were just as good, or better.
BLASPHEMY!!!! i am not listening to your blasphemy
Clickbait capitalizing on glitchfest release
Top reason should be it's made by idiots at Ubisoft. Secondly the way they weave the past and present together needs to be changed. Lastly the animation systems suck.
Agree with points 1 and 2, but wholeheartedly disagree with the animation one
Funny, I was just playing Unity and marveling at how great the animation is. The cloth animation in particular looks amazing. So does the way the hair moves. The only wonky area I've seen is when using the controlled decent sometimes you will slide laterally in an unnatural way. But otherwise the animation is some of the most nuanced and realistic in any game I've played.
Cloth and hair are calculated by the physics engine(probably Havok), therefore not really an animation in a sense of animating stuff or capturing it. Acutal animation system(the mocap and animation interpolation) in AC hasn't been really touched since AC2 and the result we're seeing is merely a higher fidelity thanks to more processing power. The fundaments of the game are exactly the same along with animations.
Mountains out of mole hills... Pretty much the job of the internet.
I won't argue with him But he didn't mentions the most obvious reason I didn't play it but people on the internet talking about the technical disaster I think it's affected by point 1 and the modified engine I'm AC fan but I'll get this one later next weak there is FC4 and DA:I
...the fact that they're making the same game again and again? hey, i don't care. I liked AC:III even though people said it was the worst in the series i don't really care for critical reception as long as i find it entertaining.. should look into optimization though. from what i've gathered AC:Unity runs like poop on pretty much every system including PC..
