Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Far Cry 4 and The Crew have all returned to the local and US Steam storefronts after mysteriously vanishing yesterday.
They’ve also popped up on Origin, EA’s digital storefront, which suggests Ubisoft hasn’t got any problems with third-party storefronts and this isn’t the beginning of mandatory shopping through Uplay.
The Outerhaven writes: With the closure of The Crew's online servers, Ubisoft has started removing access to the game from anyone who owns it on Ubisoft Connect.
I'm so done with Ubisoft, removing games one paid for is a new low...
Bye Ubisoft,
You've done f#c*ed it up !
I see they're trying their best to surpass Activision Blizzard for being the most hated gaming company. Keep at it, Ubisoft, I believe!
Blindfolding myself and clicking a Steam page at random would serve me better recommendations than Steam’s algorithm
Hmm, not sure I agree with that. The recommendations I get are usually pretty good, but then again I have pretty large library of games on Steam and hundreds of them in my wish list, along with lots of curators I follow for it to build recommendations off of. On occasion it will throw me a random FIFA game or something I've never bought or shown interest in, but mostly its decent IMO.
Dive into the best Metroidvania games on Steam, from hidden gems to top-rated classics, and embark on unforgettable adventures!
Yeah, I figured it was an error. No way they'd pull their stuff from Steam, unless they wanted to lose a lot of sales.
Don't let this slow down internet. You can still over react, because maybe it's a mistake that they put it back.
They've even gone further than just keeping their games on Steam. When you go to Uplay, and click 'Visit Shop', you get redirected to Steam, which basically means that Ubisoft isn't selling games on Uplay anymore.
My guess is that Valve didn't want Ubisoft to sell on Origin and tried to force a "it's me or her" situation, but it backfired.
