Sony retracts 1080i fix statement, leaving customers in lurch

All you owners of HDTVs that can only do 1080i, we've got some bad news for you. Sony Computer Entertainment America's head honcho of Corporate communications, David Karraker, apparently retracted -- or at least backtracked -- on Sony's previous statements about the increasingly infamous 1080i issue (the one that won't let PS3s play games at 1080i on HDTVs that don't support 720p). How do you launch a system without first making sure at least its features work? Maybe becuase they never included high def cables in the box with their "hi-def blu ray I'm da bomb" system.

Future proof? If this is true; then it is a fact that Microsoft did a better job at making the 360 future proof compared to the Sony.

PS3's future proof, if everybody has Sony's 1080p HDTV's in their living rooms, but those aren't even future proof as we seen with MS's enabled 1080p setting.

I dont get it, how could sony not have an anolog scaler, did they not try out their ps3s on a resolution other than 1080p. Do what MS did, break into bestbuys in the mornings and quickly try hooking you the system to every tv possible to see if it works on all tvs.
