"It’s clear that the Wii U version of Watch Dogs is an awful deal for us as players, and at the same time it has the potential to hurt third party support. It’s just a pity the game actually looks really good."
60 dollars, no DLC included, other versions are cheaper and have DLC, first screenshot two weeks before release and three days before Smash Bros. Yet Ubisoft will blame it on Nintendo and it's fans.
Most of the time I'd just wait until it drops to $20 or something like 2-3 years from now, but I don't even ever want to play this game. Not even for $5. It just looks so boring.
Ubisoft is an example of what is wrong with AAA games.
Did anyone expect any different?? I didn't! You'd think after all the negative press they've been giving about Wii U owners only buying 'Dance' games and receiving abuse for gimping their ports they'd try to make an effort to make sales....obviously not!! Guess we won't be getting Zombi2!!! 😡
F¤¤k ubisoft for this nonsense watch them blame big n for poor sales. If it wasnot for tom clancy series being publish by them they will not see a $$ from me
While third party games have generally sold poorly on Wii U, what Ubisoft has done with this Watch Dogs port is create a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Tough position for NINTENDO, because people do not buy a WI U for multiplat games.
because lack of support of third party with lazy port from them
The article said double the starting price? I don t think so- the PS4 and XB1 versions were also $59.99. I rarely if ever buy DLC and not big playing online so I'll prob buy the games sooner or later I hope it sells well but so far nothing much does on the Wii u other than the biggest Nintendo titles
It isn't the fact that it sells well, it might if it came out with the added gamepad features on time with full support and with the other versions. Most people won't buy it due to buying it previously on another system, saying that i haven't bought a ubisoft game in ages, bunch of backwards yolkles.
Watchdogs can be bought for about 40 bucks right now on 360. It also still has online and the DLC. I was excited for the wii U version at least thinking it had cool gamepad features. Nope. I won't be buying it. I had a preorder and I cancelled it months ago. Now I won't be playing watchdogs at all. Ubisoft really fucked this up.
Every bad multiplat port that his the wii u, hurts Nintendo gamers ongoing trust in third party games just a little bit more than before. If this keeps up, then by next gen, even if Nintendo's next machine turns out to be the most powerful console on the market and the multiplats release on time with all the content, there won't be enough trust left to get gamers to buy third party multiplats at all on it. Because they won't be able to believe that third parties can show positive consistency with their multiplat release habits, by then. If third parties don't change how they approach Nintendo's fanbase, then they will be seeing sales below 50k per month for their multiplats, if not worse.
next year nintendo got tons of great game in their disposal.... in other words 2015 is good opportunity for nintendo to change the table although they ahead by 12 month, current sales they still ahead xbox one...if they could maintained the gap until 2016,might be game changer for industry
I actually liked the game. I only paid $27 for it though. Played it a lot and got the platinum on PS4. http://psnprofiles.com/trop...
I don't own any other consoles other than a Wii U so I don't care what it costs on other consoles or what DLC they have. So a brand new game is coming out on Wii U at the same price as any other brand new Wii U game costs? I'm fine with that and looking forward to purchasing. Not bothered about DLC.
And this is the reason that EVERYONE should join operation #Platinum and purchase Bayonetta 2. .... not only is it a fantastic game, but it makes the point with the Ubisofts of the world that quality "mature" product sells.
On the plus side......this will be $9.99 after Christmas for those that want it
