People who own Ground Zeroes will be able to revisit Camp Omega in The Phantom Pain

Earlier this year Hideo Kojima was interviewed by Geoff Keighley, live on Twitch. One of the questions was whether or not we will be able to revisit Camp Omega, the enemy base in Ground Zeroes, in MGSV: The Phantom Pain. The translation by Kojima Productions’ Ken Mendoza was a bit unclear at the time, and the information was somewhat lost in translation. Kojima’s answer has recently been retranslated by JunkerHQ, and it appears Kojima was actually a bit more specific in his own words.

I hope they bundle GZ with phantom pain.

KiwiViper851232d ago

It's the only way I'd play it

-Foxtrot1232d ago

Pretty much

Still find it appalling they separated it. If they wanted to let people buy it early fine but it still should be in the main game.

It's the equivalent of the Tanker Missions in MGS2

TheStrokes1232d ago

Exactly. I remember getting the MGS2 demo with OPM2. It was pretty much what people paid £25 or so for today.
I'm a massive MGS fan and I may pick up GZ before V comes out, but I'm not paying for a demo.
Don't know why you're getting disagrees... ITS A DEMO.

Am_Ryder1232d ago

@Fox and Strokes

GZ is not a demo. It's just a small game.

Also, it is fucking great, and the amount of content you get for £20-25 is stunning. That's such hasty stubbornness if you miss out on it just because you've decided it's a "demo". Without even TRYING it.

Give me strength.

BiggerBoss1232d ago

Unfortunately, if they do bundle it, it will likely cause an uproar from people who payed full price for it.

-Foxtrot1231d ago

Because people don't want to admit that Kojima has screwed them over.

If it was EA, Capcom, Activision there would be bloody hell on.

Oh please, it's a glorified demo. You can complete it in an hour, it just seems big because it's open world.

It's not "stubbornness" it's sticking to my guns and not giving into crappy industry moves.

People are letting the fact it's Metal Gear Solid blind them.

As I said if he wanted to do it and say "Look guys you can pay for it now HOWEVER it will be on the's up to you guys whether you want it early" then fair enough but don't make everyone be forced to buy the bloody PROLOGUE of the main game.

Uh no. That would defeat the purpose of this announcement.

NBT911232d ago

Exactly. The idea is that this announcement would not have needed to be made if Ground Zeroes was included in Phantom Pain. Which, having bought Ground Zeroes, I would agree with.

KiwiViper851232d ago

Included as a physical copy, not included as part of the Phantom Pain campaign.

I don't think anyone expects that...

Spikeantestor1232d ago

I'll pay a maximum of 5 bucks for it. I assume there will eventually be a bundle of SOEME kind though. As long as we are patient I don't see us having to be raked over the coals on this.

MysticStrummer1232d ago

People were trying to tell me GZ was included with TPP all along, that it was a paid demo. If this translation is correct they were wrong.

Z5011232d ago (Edited 1232d ago )

I said GZ would be included, but at a cost. Why would Kojima give people a free game? If I personally paid $30 for GZ, why should everyone else get it for free?

People can call GZ a demo all they want. But I have yet to put 15 hours of gameplay in ANY demo. Haven't played in awhile. Was only at 27% completed last time I played.

GZ = 15 hours in/27% completed.

Angerfist1232d ago

There is this DLC Code that does not work right now. I'm pretty sure this Is linked to it.
Kojima should bring it on, can't wait

RosweeSon1232d ago (Edited 1232d ago )

I agree it's the equivalent of the tanker missions but they were given out for free were they no you had to go and buy Zone of the Enders for £30 plus, luckily I really enjoyed the game but there was more than enough copies traded in oh and what do you know no bonus demo discs in sight as people kept them all, it's not like they charged £15-20 for a couple of matches on Fifa. Either way hopefully it's just like the tanker mission in the fact you get to play ground zeroes before phantom pain, all shall be revealed, not like anyone was forced to purchase this on day one or infact ever either get it day one if your a fan or just wait it out and get it on the cheap, this is no HD Remaster.
