Sometimes, our games really want us to press X to feel an unearned emotional response.
Duke Nukem Forever had a button prompt to pick up a turd. It was optional, but still.
God of War 3 had a more sadistic button prompt when you were fighting Zeus. The game told you to keep mashing circle, but never told you to stop or automatically continued to the next scene. The entire screen just filled with blood and it was never ending until you stopped pressing circle (against what the prompt was telling you to do). Psychological $^&% there.
I loved the button prompts in Deadpool.
Underrated game, imo.
i loved that game, so funny.
Batman does it first, but it's Batman so we give it a pass.
Press F? Flashlight?
No, the F key. You know, that key that you just used twice in your comment?
+1 for making me laugh Panda, that was pretty funny. Batman has an excuse though because it's the massive event that made him what he is. That game has other things that make me scratch my head before the "press X to pay your respects" like HOW DOES ANYONE NOT NOTICE BATMAN SITTING OVER THE SPOT WHERE THOMAS AND MARTHA WERE KILLED?! Sorry for the caps but seriously. Why does he call Alfred out loud through his comms?! Isn't he putting the only man named Alfred in Gotham at risk?! Furthermore, who does he EXPECT to pick up on the bat phone back at the cave? Clayface?! My point (apart from bitching about my favorite game) is although funny, there are alot of these WTF moments in games. Lol, just go with it, it's better interactivity than just watching.
Oh I see, I never knew there were more uses! Learn something new everyday :D
Boy people can find just about anything to bitch about
Seriously...this is what you "journalists" have decided to attack? Pathetic. Absolutely PATHETIC.
To be fair, I'm not sure Venture Beat is held to a high standard.
Jesus. Not everything is an attack. Relax.
Honestly I thought the "Kiss your wife" one in Shadow of Mordor was kinda neat
It was a little odd when you think about it, because that was basically the tutorial for telling you how to stealth kill. O_O I'm just glad the game never got the two things confused, I don't want to be sneaking up and kissing Uruks...
lol yea but it did teach you how to stealth so it did do what it was intended for, just in a different way, which I always welcome
I thought that was pretty clever too. Funny, and confusing at first, but clever.
Got to be 'Press X to Jason'
What is the theory about why you gotta press to "pay respects"? i can't grasp it.
