The PC version of the game sold at retail stores will be on 6 DVDs.
Really? Thats absurd.. Digital all the way if i decide to buy this.
Activision probably forgot to compress the game.
Lol. I might get this just for the novelty, plus I just love the look of a game collection of a shelf. http://s872.photobucket.com...
I would be getting cod off a key site for about £25 because i know im just gonna hit prestige and drop it tbh so im not paying full whack.
Om goodness! Lol A one game boxed set
Well sire they updated the engine but it sounds like they are being too dependent on textures for the WOW factors in graphics. Still kind of funny hehe
More like cut scenes, audio. Comical the sizes these days tbh. It's gone from like 4-5gb to 30-40gb+ DVD needs to die now. Everything should be blu-ray.
But pretty much every PC has a DVD drive, where blu-ray drives haven't really established themselves at all and likely never will. The vast majority of PC gamers will download the game, but DVDs are a valuable alternative to people that don't want to download 45gig. It isn't like you have to change discs mid-way through the campaign or anything so the number of discs is no great hardship.
Wow wtf lol
Bluray is your friend ;)
Maybe soon, Bluray has been around for a long time now and it isn't really a problem for PC gamers since we install our games to SSD/HDD, and they stay there without needing to access the disc anymore.
Consoles work the same way these days. The blu-ray drive adds very little value in that sense, the value is in the fact blu-ray is still the best way to watch movies.
Wait is this confirmed, the picture is pretty dodgy, it covers all the other disc labels and they are all the same picture.
Before DVDs were prevalent, I remember HL2 and COD2 also came on something like 6 CDs. I think I still have both those games (and each of the 6 CDs) somewhere in my closet.
I had HL2 on day of release i believe, and it definitely didn't come on CD's..
I can't seem to find my HL2 at the moment, but COD 2 definitely came on 6 CDs (just found my copy of it).
Just because you bought the DVD, doesn't mean that it wasn't released on CD. Also I am pretty sure it was 5 cd's for half life 2.
They still make physical PC games? Seriously, not trolling... Didn't know that
I removed my DVD drive from my PC years ago, I download all my games. If I find a PC game on DVD I just use the CD key in steam, If that fails I just make an image of the DVD on a laptop in the house, pop it on network storage and run it from there, which I've only had to do once.
6 DVD's? Jeeze. My copy of the game came in one torrent...
