Nintendo commented on a variety of topics during the Q&A portion of its financial results briefing earlier this week. One of these points was development time.
Good for Nintendo. I can honestly say, I do see some growth experience in game development.
But are there not only Nintendo games + some indie games in development for WiiU in 2015? Seems just all big third party publishers jumped abboard from the Nintendo train =/
Yes, Nintendo has plenty of AAA games and indies games ready for launch in 2015.mmmm, I guess you're asking why didn't Nintendo do this before right? Well, I think mainly because Nintendo only wants quality games out for the wii U. They want their game feel right and play rights. I think they don't want to rush things, and I don't blame them. As for the indies, I think Nintendo made the right decision because they don't have enough support from 3rd party devs. I also think most 3rd jump ship because the wii U architecture is very different from current gen hardware. which means that the 3rd devs would have to optimize the wii U version of the game differently, which would take time and money. So, Since the wii U install base was small they didn't feel it was worth the effort to invest time to make games on the Wii U.
It seems like Nintendo games always come out next year. With that aside, I'm sure Sm4sh is going to move wiius
I have high hopes for Nintendo despite, their less powerful Wii U compared to other systems. To be honest, whenever I look at some Wii U titles, they look just as good or close to some PS4/X1 titles. Mario Kart 8 looks really good in 60 fps without a dated looking texture in site. Right now PS4/X1 is not doing too much in software, because we are mostly seeing remastered titles, and overhyped games this year. Next year will be the true test for X1, PS4, and Wii U! Sony will release their big guns like Uncharted 4. Microsoft will release their big guns like Halo 5. Nintendo Wii U better release Zelda, Starfox, F-zero, New Metroid game, and hopefully Eternal Darkness 2 to take away the competition.
I think the bigger differences will be seen when games like Bloodborne, Batman: Arkham Knight, Witcher 3 and Mortal Kombat X are released.
Yoshi Wholly World Mario Maker Kirby Rainbow Curse Splatoon Xenoblade Chronicles X Project Guard & Giant Robot Star Fox Wii U The Legend of Zelda Wii U Devil's Third Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem Retro Studio has a game in development Platinum Games has another secret project either new or Star Fox. Next Level Games may have one Pokken Fighter Tournament Wii U announcement after Arcade releases More Third Parties collaboration 2015 gonna be amazing year for Wii U owners.
Their is also the virtual console releases! I love picking up new/old tittles. Nintendo has a great amount of content coming within the next year. Everytime I see that list I get excited! On another note! For any 3DS owners who like Animal Crossing and RPG's should check out Fantasy Life.
Nintendo has set themselves up pretty nicely. What a lot of people forget is they until the Wii U never once developed a game in HD. Now per some nice timed comments they have moved past that hurdle. Also keep in mind that Shinen made a comment that they aren't even using all cores yet. With that being said OtakuDJK1NG has a good point. But were going a step further Nintendo only needs to work with third parties to develop new Ip's that they will own.
Ya know, its one thing to make the jump to HD in 2012, but its obvious they made something wrong. The biggest change going from SD to HD is the graphics, and even 2010 there were PCs available that could be used to mimic the Wii U final polygon pushing power, so Nintendo was either stupid or lazy. Its not like Wii u had been developed for six months and then suddenly was released. They had this developing for 5 years, so I dont buy that "we needed time to really understand HD development". They knew the RAM, they knew the GPU, they knew the CPU.
I guess sony and microsoft could had just use pc too
On the bright side: there are many third party teams that arent slaves to Ubi or EA or Activision, like Capcom, Team Ninja, High Voltage Games, maybe even Kojima, but I think he is too cool for a Nintendo cinsole.
he wasn't too cool to beg to have snake in smash bros. lol
